Come to think of it, "The best of Square & [company]" seem to be a thing with Square. 3D Culex has to be one of my favourite bosses of all time because of the build-up and payoff to what was probably one of, if not THE most highly anticipated parts of the remake. The fact that they start with the original 2D Culex and also have him wish that he could be 3D is genius. The payoff of going through all of the post-game bosses before finally being greeted to his stronger, 3D form is such a good mini-story, not to mention that the fight itself is NUTS lmao. It's easily my favourite part of this game
@BlindMelonLord11 ай бұрын
fun fact, that dialogue about him wishing to be 3D, was supposed to be in the original game. All of that dialogue was kept in Japan, but for some weird reason in the English localization back then in the original version, there was no reference to it. But obviously, in the remake, that’s not the case. They stuck as closely to the Japanese script, while at the same time, keeping some of the classic lines from the Western version. same with Mallow’s “Grandpa”,being called frog sage. He was called that in Japan.

I said it in another comment, but what the hell. I’ll tell you as well. Fun fact, him wishing to be 3D is not new. Well… For Japan anyway. Because in the Japanese version of the original game script, he does exactly like he does in this version of the game. He talks about being flat and asks why they’re all 3D, and he ends up wishing he could be 3D. But for some reason, in the original English version, that dialogue was cut and replaced with something else. Thank goodness for this remake, they decided to follow the Japanese script as closely as possible. While at the same time, keeping some of the classic lines from the English version of the script.
