Back in 2007, the last Flash animation I did as I was graduating High School and entering College was a music video based on "Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars" for the Super Nintendo, a game that I have over a decade of history with. Yoko Shimomura's music is a huge part of what's so amazing about this game, "Beware the Forest Mushrooms" (theme of the "Forest Maze" stage) being one of her most highly regarded compositions. DJ XBrav created a lyrical version of the song that took the internet by storm many years ago, evolving into a meme that fans of the game all know and love. Martin Hagwell later remixed this into the popular "Rawest Forest" song, which I later used as the song for the music video that has now received millions of views in the past several years.
Today, as the last Flash animation I'm doing as I graduate College and enter into the rest of my life: Myself, Blake "ShadyVox" Swift, Bryon "Psyguy" Beaubien and Musical Mike Patterson, have joined forces to bring you a new version of the popular Forest Maze composition from Super Mario RPG, paying tribute to both XBrav's and Marta's remixes as well as Yoko Shimomura's original piece. This animation was done over the course of two weeks, as opposed to the original music video that was finished in one week. I crammed in as many geeky references in there as I possibly could to show my appreciation for this amazing game and I hope everyone who's ever played Super Mario RPG will get a big smile in remembering all the fun stuff from Mario and company's adventures. Big thanks as well to my creative partners that helped in making this song and everyone who supported me during the animation process.

Let's all agree to come here if Geno gets announced for smash ultimate Edit:...I mean, I said "if" Edit 2: So 4 Heroes from Dragon Quest, a Square Enix IP, are coming to smash as playable charecters. Hear me out Edit 3: Min Min is coming to smash as a playable fighter when she was originally a spirit. Again, hear me out Edit 4: Earlier in 2020, Smash Ultimate had a spirit event for Trials of Mana, a Square Enix IP, and Smash Ultimate also had a spirit event for Octopath Traveler, another Square Enix IP, meaning that Smash and Square are definitely getting at least a little bit closer. Once again, hear me out Edit 5: SEPHIROTH!!!!! Edit 6: Well, the Geno Mii costume was revealed today as part of the Sephiroth presentation, thus confirming Geno won't be a playable character. But you know what, that's ok. Smash Bros Ultimate is still an amazing game that brought so many franchises together and people together, the fact that we even have a Geno costume at all just shows that they definitely did care and know about the Geno fans, so even though he isn't playable, thank you Sakurai for an amazing game and series. Such a great tribute to such a great game. I'd love to see Nintendo and Square-Enix make a 3d remake of this for 3ds. Maybe they could add more to the story and gameplay, like add more levels, enemies, side quests, and party memebers. It would also be cool to have the exploration on the over world have a camera (like what they did when converting Kingdom Hearts: Chain Of Memories to it's PS2 remake.) It would be interesting to explore a recreation of the world of Mario RPG from a camera level closer to Mario, instead of an over head fixed camera angle.

Nintendo can't make a remake or sequel because this game is property of Square now, and doing so will get Nintendo into copyright issues with Square.

There actually is a sequel to Mario RPG. It's called Paper Mario. During development, Paper Mario was called " Super Mario RPG 2", but Square stopped working on it near the end of development, so they had to rename it.
