Honestly, I remember playing this game so many times. I'll never forget the day when I completed it as kids man. The number of memories this created and how nostalgic it is. Nothing will ever compare to games like these now. This game is literally undescribable Just top-tier shit. If you had a Gamecube you had to have SUNSHINE on it. Literally, this was what brought us joy as kids, to distract us from the rough parts of life. Ahhh, the memories. This game needs to be as is, no remake whats so ever. Keep the legacy up.

I remember getting a Nintendo Gamecube for Christmas in 2002, and this WONDERFUL game (along with a memory card) was bundled with the console. At first I thought Super Mario Sunshine was the only Gamecube game I had so far until my mom spotted a present I forgot to open just minutes after I fired up Super Mario Sunshine. The present happened to be Luigi's Mansion, another Gamecube game I had been itching to play since playing it countless times on demo kiosks at Best Buy, GameStop, Circuit City, etc.. I had to get Super Mario 3D All Stars to play this wonderful gem again and feel like I'm 17 again (that's how old I was when Super Mario Sunshine came out. I'm now 35).

My favourite game of all time, im 27 and i would play this as a kid constantly. Woke up on christmas day of 2002 as a little kid and my parents bought me a gamecube, mario sunshine, star fox adventures, luigis mansion and mario kart. Best christmas ever and i will never forget it till i die.

Love all the comments here.❤ I’m ancient so back when Nintendo first came out they had a game called Ninja Gaiden. I went over to a friends house to get him and ran into his 6 year old brother absolutely trouncing what had to have been the first speed run I had ever seen. He was doing things with the game I didn’t know was possible. Also had a girlfriend when Super Mario first released, she would do speed runs and kill it. I like seeing that people have cherished Mario and friends throughout their lives. Super Cool!😊

My first game console and (I think) the first Gamecube game I ever owned and played on Christmas day back in 2002. This game was fucking hard in parts. The obstacle course levels were annoying and stressful as hell but going back to it now, they are hard because the game's controls are often unpredictable and unfair. Sometimes I wanted Mario to jump but the jump didn't register, and stuff like that.

I had my copy about July of 2002, yeah almost when it was released, I played 4-5 hours everyday and finished the game in 4 days, been a 13 years old kid, those times I treasure so much, so happy with my Nintendo game cube 😊, now at 34 years old I’m playing it in a Wii emulator, having so much fun like 21 years ago ❤

For me it's the tropical setting + music (I'm a sucker for that in games; being from a pretty cold temperate zone country with, usually, sucky summers). Haven't replayed the game since when it came out pretty much but I remember it fondly (and I have the music in my ears when swimming). Need to get on the Switch port or emulate it after working through the backlog some.

After playing Sunburn, I could never go back to the original version of this game. Sunburn has so many quality of life improvement's, including not being booted out of levels after collecting a shine. I forgot how annoying that was, and watching this video feels like it takes FOREVER to get back in the level and continue playing 🥴

In Super Mario Sunshine on the nintendo gamecube also on the switch as part of the 3D all star trilogy, the famous red Plummer is being framed for a crime he'd never committed and now someone out there on isle delfino is pretending to be our legendary hero in disguise spreading graffiti all over the place with a magic paintbrush and it's up to the real mario to clear his name, prove his innocence, find the real culprit, so he can have vacation time with Princess peach and company. What really bothered me is where is luigi?! he deserves some rest and relaxation with the group as well.
