In the Japanese version of Super Mario World, every two courses in Special World share the same name. In English, the naming conventions are based on 1980s slang. (I’m a child of the 1980s myself.) In German, the naming conventions are based on the Latin language, and all course names in Special World begin with “ex-“. COURSES 1&2 • Japanese: おたのしみコース (TCRF: Enjoyment Course) (MarioWiki: Fun Course) • English: Gnarly / Tubular. • French: Noueux / Tubulaire. • German: Extraordinär / Exzeptionell • Italian: Nodoso / Tubulare • Spanish: Enredado / Tubiguay (Tube-cool) COURSES 3&4 • Japanese: マリオスタッフもビックリコース (TCRF: Even the Mario Staff is Surprised Course) (MarioWiki: Mario’s Staff is Just as Surprised Course) • English: Way Cool / Awesome • French: Top Cool / Dément • German: Exclusiv / Extrem • Italian: Superfico / Fantastico • Spanish: Molón / Impresionante COURSES 5&6 • Japanese: スペシャリストのためのコース (TCRF: Course for the Specialists) (MarioWiki: Specialists Only Course) • English: Groovy / Mondo • French: Groovy / Mondo • German: Exzellent / Exquisit • Italian: Ingarbugliato / Strano • Spanish: Enrevesado / Rarito COURSES 7&8 • Japanese: チャンピオンシップのコース (TCRF: Championship Course) (MarioWiki: Championship’s Course) • English: Outrageous / Funky • French: Scandaleux / Funky • German: Explosiv / Exorbitant • Italian: Scandaloso / Finale • Spanish: Escandaloso / Total

Funky is harder in the Japanese version. There are only three green berries in Japanese version. The Western version turned six of the red berries into green berries. This resulted from 60 seconds for the Japanese version to 180 seconds in the Western version. A Yoshi is required to take this advantage. After beating Funky, a new Star Road will appear and take you back to where the game first started, and the season changes from spring to fall, and certain enemies will be transformed. The names of those enemies remain unchanged in the Japanese version. In the GBA version, this change will not happen unless you have found all 96 exits.

This slaps. You're probably one of the only arrangers on KZbin who flexibly articulates their melodies instead of writing everything in as pure stac or straight legato. On a related note, all of your wind and brass parts sound like if someone played it for real, they'd be able to breathe. Speaking of - Is the saxophone here SWAM, Aaron Venture, or traditional samples?

At the top of the Special World map screen is the Super Famicom logo, which represents the face buttons on the Japanese and European SNES controller. The buttons on the American SNES controller are in shades of purple. In the GBA version, the logo is on the top left corner. The Nowadays, the Super Famicom logo has been widely used for anything SNES related by the emulation community and on KZbin.

The Super Mario Bros. remix portion of the Special Zone theme was later dumped into the files of the 2004 GameCube game The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures and the Wii version of Donkey Kong Jungle Beat as a test track.

@@movinitlikedat45 That was "Beautiful Hyrule - Epilogue" that comes before the staff roll, I'm talking about the somber theme that plays with the spinning Triforce pieces and ends with the Main Legend of Zelda Theme. Sure, it's already got several orchestrated arrangements/covers on KZbin, but I love Evelyn's work so much, I'm sure her's wouldn't disappoint. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4TNe5iQbamCpck
