My music crime for this arrangement was putting a guitar amp on a choir sample.

First time I played I knew about the baby metroid's sacrifice. Knowing what would happen in the end I reflected on what that really means about this being the last Metroid. I didn't feel sad... I got mad that I couldn't stop mother brain. Samus took the final organism of a parasitic life to hopefully find a way to do good with it and mother brain instead used it for the destructive use they only see in it. Yet in the last moment the Metroid was healing Samus and giving her enough power to easily defeat mother brain and the remaining space pirates. It's not just a consuming parasite. It can heal, empower, and defend. It was more than the all consuming parasite the galactic federation feared and space pirate wanted to make into weapons.
@arthurbarros51894 жыл бұрын
When I was a Child, I tought Samus should've kept The Metroid for herself, he was attatched to her. Now that I read this, really, It would be a waste of its potential. Somehow, It was kinda a motherly thing to let The Metroid in Ceres for research and betterment of The Galaxy. That is what mothers dream about, isn't? "My Child is out there helping people".
@jhart67644 жыл бұрын
@@arthurbarros5189 Oh I can add another detail I considered about this thought. Both samus and that metroid are what remain of the Chozo. Making sure her family's legacy isn't just two weapons she want the metroid to be better than her than just being another killer in the galaxy. Maybe I'm reading into it to much, but that's how I saw it. I guess the metroid did prove that it's more than it's original creation.

The thing about mother brain's theme is that while it's really intimidating and intense, after a while it gets a bit repetitive. In super Metroid this isn't an issue because the boss fight is relatively easy and is over quickly, but now you've made it really energetic and cool, and if mother brain was a proper boss fight that lasted as long as, say, Ridley, this is EXACTLY how I'd want it to sound

I can't stand how dismissive everyone is of music with retro sound chips. I love listening to these hd retro music renditions, but I don't think this comes close to the intensity of the original sounds used back then.
@locomotivo46443 жыл бұрын
@@milddiffuse nah, it's just that the theme gets really repetitive after a bit. The arrangement of original theme itself is phenomenal, but it was rather too short
@milddiffuse3 жыл бұрын
@@locomotivo4644 Well like somebody else has already pointed out the original fight is over really quick, so repetitiveness really isn't a problem in the actual game. But yeah, when you listen to the song by itself or if they made a longer fight out of it, then some extra juice like this surely needed. The original is still just more intense in my eyes.
@sodasaintcommentaries40544 жыл бұрын
This really drives home the sci-fi horror aspects of this fight. I remember playing Super for the first time and realizing that the Mother Brain not only wasn't dead, it had transformed itself into a horrendous abomination.

I remenber child me seeing Mother brain, and not fearing it. Then, somehow, I came to fear it years later, like, with 8 or something. I don't know, maybe I learnt how crazy and terrible that was. The music definitely helped. Following that, I have a really cool memory of my father shouting "Take this! Don't scare my son!" while blasting hyper beam on that biomechanical abomination.

This theme just really gives off that final boss vibe. It makes mother brain seem truly unkillable, and she is until the baby comes in and gives you the hyper beam.

I was hoping for a more orchestral sound since imo that’s really where you shine. not that the more electronic take is bad. But I’ve seen what you have been able to do with an orchestral sound, an example being the secret of manas danger you turned an already ferocious track into a grand and epic movie like track (also ur Zelda tracks are straight up masterpieces). Imo you do orchestra remixes incredibly well and I think this track could’ve really benefited from that touch of yours
