Gorgeous. Really that's one thing I completely love about the Super NES - they upgraded the games in an interesting and instructive way: not with CONCEPT, but with DETAIL. The OG 8 bit Metroid was very cool and innovative for its time, especially since it was one of the only non-kiddie major titles on the NES. It was primitive, but had great game play. So you get all this new capacity to render graphics and what do you do? Well, you DON'T change the original game play. You resist that temptation, recognize instead that what was good then remains good now, and you just ADD to the surrounding world to make the whole thing more immersive. They did it with Legend of Zelda, Mario, and this...with epic results.

I played it in 94 at 14yo and without any help. It was great. But what wasnt great was back then if you wanted help you had to find it in a magazine or "strategy guide". The cheapest on Amazon was $180 and that's just for a renewed one. Walmarts $240 and Ebay has them for $125 to $200. Out of curiosity, where'd you find the $80 pricing? Thanks anyway though. Born in 1990. This was the first video game I ever put hands on. My older cousin gave me and my older brother his SNES and bought us Super Metroid. This was this first cartridge we dropped in. It's crazy, I remember exactly who I was with, where we were all sitting and everyone's reaction as we played through. Five years old and a pledged gamer for life. Here I am today finishing Dread. Cant wait to see what's next. Good times.

This is...my favorite game of all time...I love everything about it I like the gameplay The graphic is really good for the snes The bosses and the enemies are really cool and creative I remember all the item locations But the Atmosphere and the music are the best part about it... I just love this game!

too true. i sat there and played it a bit earlier after reading that comment and posting. i miss my snes. all my shit. but the fact remains that people and places still sell them mostly at reasonable prices. if you want it unused you might pay a pretty penny. but mostly alot of people are reasonable.

In the 1990's as a kid I only had two games, the game that came with the SNES (Super Mario World) and Super Metroid, both games were so immersive and "long", you have to remember that in the 90's games were very expensive, $60, $60 translates to $124 in today's money, so owning another game other than Super Mario World was huge, back then you rented games from small mom and pop video rental places (or Blockbuster, but Blockbuster was expensive to rent, $5 for 4 days or so, I forget) who would have a dozen games to rent for $1.50 for 24 hours. I would rent all kinds of games, Madden, Phalanx, Top Gear 3000, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat 1-3, as soon as I rented Super Metroid I knew it was special, but I still couldn't afford it, as soon as I had a chance to buy a game I did and it was Super Metroid 👍 Super Metroid is probably the best game of the 16 bit era.

Great walkthrough. Watched with best pleasure. I could remember some secret places before you opened it. )))) My best time with 100% was 3:15. It was on game console at the last of 90-x. Unfortunately, I was unable to do the following things, which are shown if you linger on the game's intro for a while: 1) Restore energy by exploding a big bomb. 2) Fly diagonally after a speed boost. 3) climb some places in the form of a ball by bouncing off mini-explosions of bombs. You did this trick. I couldn't find the need timings.

@dominon9294 жыл бұрын
Here’s my attempt at scripting it between the sequences with Ridley, her Metroid, and Mother Brain. 3:58 - 4:20: Give that back you flying space fiend! You snatched my metroid and now I will find you and I will destroy you! 2:40:10: Ridley! We meet once again! Because of you taking my metroid away from me, this is where I must end you after coming all this way towards the depths of Norfair! Now prepare to be obliterated! 2:42:10: It’s gone! It must have survived and escaped elsewhere. Better keep searching. I know. Now that’ve killed all the 4 main bosses, their statues can open up to Tourian where Mother Brain is at. It’s no doubt my metroid is down there. 3:03:24: Hey! There you are! Wow you got so big and- - -Whoa! What are you doing!? It’s me! It’s me! STOP IT! STOP IT AT ONCE! YOUR DRAINING ME OUT! (Metroid realizes, gets apologetic, and flies away in sham) Wait! Come back! It’s okay! I know how alert you can be! Shoot. Better go see where it went. 3:05:47: Mother Brain! How did you get planted back in there after I destroyed you, previously!? Well I must do it again I suppose. 3:06:25: WHAT IS THIS MONSTROUS ABOMINATION YOU BECOME!? YOU WERE JUST A LONE BRAIN! 3:07:10: WHY! WON’T! YOU! DIE! 3:07:16: AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! 3:07:40: In so much pain...I’m very weak... I’m so doomed... 3:07:48 - 3:07:18: (Metroid storms in to attack Mother Brain) Whaaat? My metroid is saving me now? That’s it... Keep trying to weaken her...Oh thank you so much...Please replenish me... 3:07:35: She’s back up! Hurry up! 3:08:55: NOOOOO! You killed this precious creature of mine! (Metroid falls on Samus) LOOK WHO’S POWERFUL NOW, HUH!? I’M ABOUT TO OWN YOU HARD THIS TIME! 3:09:30 - 3:09:45: Phew! I destroyed this terrifying beast with the most powerful beam that my precious metroid has sacrificed and left for me to defeat her for good! I successfully avenged it. Whoa! I gotta get the hell out of here! This entire planet is going to explode!
