Such a weird feeling to randomly find something from my hometown on youtube. Looks like it was in the old Roberts stadium.

Great footage of a potentially exciting event. But could they not find a bigger venue - maybe outdoors? Kill switch? Only a thimble full of gas required for that distance.

_I bet it was as sad as Roanoke, Va. LOL!! They had to keep from crashing into the other trucks that they stupidly had in the arena because the outer arena didn't have anymore room to keep 'em inside. There was a bad ice storm going on outside and half the trucks wouldn't crank. xD_

_I wish everyone could visit Darryl Jones' huge 4-Lane mud racing complex he built 20yrs ago for Mud Racing racing in Sanford, NC. His gang "Doo Crew Racing" had some awesome vehicles._ _If ya ever wanna show someone that there is such a thing called "Having Too Much Power", in the very early 2000's Darryl's truck called "Scooby-Doo" (before he detuned it), stayed on it's roof more than it did on 4 wheels xD. I think those vids are still on YT somewhere._ _Been over 10yrs since I've been there. I don't know if the complex is still open anymore. Had a great time._

Was just one of those quirks of the USHRA in the 80's. They ran Monster Trucks, Mud Boggers, and Pulling in ANY arena they could get them into. I remember watching Super Modified tractors pulling on an indoor strip that was only 100 foot long.
