(alt account) sonic genesis also released that year. all we got was a game that ruined sonics reputation. a handheld port that butchered the original game. a disc full of emulators and one game that is fun, but has some really bullshit design. (i played riders, sonic's babalon garden is a stage that even the AI's fuck up on, and you have to play the stage with minimal fails to win, and that's just what you have to complete to gain more than one mode that isn't free play) yeah, it was a bad year for sonic, not as bad as 2014 where we only got the boom games i think runners came out the very next year, but even then the game doesn't even exist anymore, even the fan servers are gone making it unplayable.

Super Monkey Ball: That’s nothing compared to what Sega started to do to me since the . You may have had Sonic ‘06 and Sonic Genesis (the worst of the worst), but that’s just half of your games that were tarnished in 2006, when despite that, ALL my games (Touch and Roll, Super Monkey Ball Adventure and Banana Blitz SD) left a lot to be desired (especially SMBA) back then.

The reason why you have to hold the pause button in order to actually pause is easy to guess. They most likely kept accidentally pausing the game during playtesting. Casual gamers tend to do that when using motion controls, they hold the controller with no regard to buttons. I know I've played with some constantly taking screenshots while playing Super Mario Party because of this. I also recall the game actually telling you about holding the button.

Good episode. I agree that they bit off more than they could chew with trying to make 50 mini-games. It would've worked way better if they had a smaller number of mini-games and then fleshed them out more. I can understand the developers wanting there to be a mini-game for everyone, but there are a few mini-games that are just flat out unplayable, such as Trombone which I still can't figure out for the life of me despite owning this game for 10 years. I still love the main campaign, though, motion controls and all; the jump button made things a lot more comfortable so you weren't constantly trying to adjust your balance. Don't know why Step and Roll removed the jump button, since it uses the same motion controls as Banana Blitz. Then again, Step and Roll was just a downgrade in general. I digress. I look forward to your next video!
