Nathaniel, Robo Mario is one of my favorite characters, he's not just a metalized version, nor has a tanooki suit, it's a totally different Mario created by Egadd, I wish he were in more games rather than Metal Mario, at least he makes more sense. :P

Rubber banding can also work (very rarely) on looping tracks. You just have to throw a green shell. Then it has to go around the track once without getting destroyed, the rest of the players must avoid it, persumably by jumping above it and you must avoid it until it finally strikes the enemy infront of you.

@@Krong My best guess is that people didn’t know about this back then because even though it’s a Mario game, it’s also a Pac-Man game and before Pac-Man World Re-Pac, the only Pac-Man games that were commonly spoken about were the arcade games of the early 1980s. Heck, even Pac-Man World, despite being another one of the most popular (and divisive) Pac-Man series alongside Ghostly Adventures had popularity levels that were nowhere near the ranks of even the most underrated Mario games (I think the only Mario games that were less popular than the PMW series were most SMW custom hacks unless they were The Second Reality Project Reloaded 1 & 2 or the ones by SuperWiiDude like Mario’s Amazing Adventure and Luigi and the Island of Mystery, Mario’s Mystery Meat (very well-deserved) and even Cypher’s SMW hacks of the 2010s (same as MMM) and maybe even Mario Endgame, if only for its controversy)

i played mario kart gp in an old school tech museum, loved it never knew it existed. The steering was awful because it actually forced the steering wheel the other way and gave resistance when you got hit and things like that, made it really hard to actually steer

However there will be a few issues. I have actually played this game in an arcade, and it doesn't use a regular controller. You have to use a steering wheel and an accelerator, along with another accelerator used for drifting (I don't know much about cars, so sorry if I screwed up the names of the parts). I imagine it may be pretty easy to change the controls, but you would also have to change the menus, so instead of telling you to press down on the accelerator to choose your character, it would tell you to press the A button or something like that.

I have bias towards it, but I'd still say MK8D is better. MKWii doesn't really have much character variety with the only viable characters being Funky Kong and Daisy (though some would argue that Peach is viable), yet MK8D has several different weight classes that all have their advantages and disadvantages. If you don't like one character but you like their playstyle, just pick another character in their weight class. Even though MK8 is a frontrunning game, MK8D fixes that by adding a second item slot and giving bombs in first. Not only that, but the item system is based on distance, giving people with large breakaways a harder time. Oh yeah, battle mode is pretty much perfect in MK8D.

Also MKWii is full of glitches and physics exploits. And bikes are broken.

Hey NB, as you probably know, MKAGP was made on the Triforce (name comes from the fact that Nintendo, Namco, and Sega worked on it) arcade board. AFAIK the Triforce uses GameCube hardware, so while you had cool things like 93 items, that came at the cost of a smaller lineup of characters and no kart selection scree, probably because of the Triforce's limitations

I played the GP2 and I enjoyed it. It's fun and it feels different, but the controls sometimes are such a pain. It's good, but not perfect :)

When you do a jump drift, there will be a bubble that goes over your character, and that bubble will defend you from items. That's how you can defend yourself from items to maintain first place.

Nathaniel, every Mario kart game (actually, probably not every one I don’t know) assigns different stats to certain characters, which is why Daisy and Funky Kong were overpowered in Wii, they had a speed boost of 4 and could use great bikes,

The mario card reminds me of entering a code in a lot of racing arcade games where it saves your progress and if the game has you upgrading your car it saves your customization
