Casper van Doorn Well, the GBA one was doomed to happen since the consoles were both made by Nintendo, but why the N-Gage? It was just, well, bad. I mean, along with the Game.com, R-Zone, and Gizmondo, it was one of the consoles that was just bad from the start.
@averagebritishguy70825 жыл бұрын
Because tons of other major game releases got N Gage ports as well. Bomberman, Call of Duty, Civilization, Crash Nitro Kart, FIFA Football 2004 and 2005, Puyo Pop, Rayman 3, Red Faction, Sega Rally Championship, The Sims Bustin' Out, Snake, Sonic Advance, Spider-Man 2, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004, various Tom Clancy games, Tomb Raider, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and Virtua Tennis all got N Gage ports. Alongside that, there were cancelled ports of DRIV3R, Habbo Islands, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005, The Urbz: Sims in the City, and Virtua Cop as well.

Regarding the DIP SWITCH mode in the debug menu... That's likely a carryover from the arcade version. In arcade games, DIP switches are used to alter certain game settings (if they aren't adjustable thru the service menu, that is). You may be familiar with these if you messed around in MAME at all.
@choppern3crozma6735 жыл бұрын
5:25 in the final game, master mode has (I think) only 10 stages instead of the 100 seen in this model.
@grn15 жыл бұрын
DIP switch refers to the dual in-line package switch found in the original arcade hardware. These were/are physical switches that change various values or settings in a game. Many older games had a switch for the number of starting lives or the score to earn a 1-up allowing for a small amount of customization. Other options were generally used for debugging purposes especially on older hardware that used non-erasable or write once Programmable Read Only Memory (PROM). I presume most newer cabinets have some sort of electronic erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (eePROM) to allow for easier switching between software/update-ability/easier repair though I could be wrong as eePROM also makes it easier to ROM dump (which can be used for both legitimate and illegitimate purposes).
