One of the many things I find so impressive is how clean and tidy things are in Japan. Go outside (or inside) any American food place and you will always find trash lying around. Rambalac is another poster on YT who just posts wonderful walking videos around Japan and even in the city centers bustling with throngs of people, the streets and sidewalks are still spotless. Why in the USA we can't accomplish same I will never understand :-(

Because of "freedom" and "god" and how people use them as excuses. If you steal something or litter in japan, random people beat you up or make you eat the trash you dropped, and that's how the society stays in order, or so I have heard. It's different if you're a tourist, or if you're just a local kid. Generally nobody treats tourists like shit except scammers and thieves, tourists are what keep poor areas alive

The reason is culture collectivism. In Japan, there is this sense of union and collective responsibility, also a sense of national pride. The Japanese have so much pride in their nation and everything they do it is an art and personal duty to keep it as clean as ones home. They truly believe that if you are dirty in the streets you are like that at home, and it is seen belittling. In the US, there is this sense that someone else will do it or clean it up. People have this sense that they are above from cleaning after themselves. In this, my mother taught me and my siblings well about cleaning after myself and helping those who are physically or mentally incapable of doing the same thing. Though I had noticed for many years already, that people with disabilities and/or disorders will clean their area and clean the area around them, because of this fear of the stereotype that the disable are dirty, or unclean, so we go beyond of not just cleaning after ourselves but those around us as well. The real question should be ... Why are nondisable Americans too fucking lazy to clean after themselves? 🤔It isn't as if anything is stopping them from taking pride of their nation and everything that they do.

@@LadyCoyKoi Towards your last question, a good amount of Americans constantly talk about how you shouldn't take pride in the Nation. A good amount even believe Nationalism makes you a Nazi and attack people for having pride. On top of that, the vast majority of our media likes to constantly talk about how you should only do what makes you yourself happy and not care about what others think. It sounds like good advice at first, but people always take things too far and they just end up selfish instead.

@@piippiz While there are people who use religion as a excuse, vast majority who do generally are hypocrites who don't actually read what God or what their religion tells them to do, your example doesn't really make any sense for even those types. The vast majority of religions state not to steal and live modestly. If anything, those type of people would use God as an excuse to beat up someone who littered/stole just like you said the Japanese supposedly do.

They should, but they don't seem to acknowledge Wario and Waluigi's existence very often. I watched the more recent videos where he went to Super Nintendo World and there was like zero Wario or Waluigi anywhere. Wasn't even any merchandise with them on it and there were hundreds of things available to buy.
