What should I mix with this video synth? Let me know what you think :)

Thanks for the comment! Slowly building up some attention thanks to people like you :) haha not sure where you can get these since it's rare but definitely try looking for video synths if you're interested in exploring! You can try something like camera feedback as an easy way to get started with trippy visuals. I share that technique in my RCA patchbay vid :)

I am only 7 minutes in but have to comment because i literally love this machine and all it's sights and sounds!! What a treasure!!! I love how you call the distorted images/sounds beautiful, bc i think they are too. And so many of the sounds could have been a beat to a song! Such cool technology that i never heard of before but i did grow up in the 90s am 34 now so i love this aesthetic You have a beautiful mind of an artist and i really enjoy it I really liked the keyboard low making thick slow lines and high making thin fast ones..its like a science experiment with music When you are breaking down the track and showing what you did to it... How do you decide what to add and not to add?! It sounds great before and after! I would end up with multiple versions bc I'm so indecisive! HOW long do these types of decisions take you?

Glad to hear you really enjoyed it! I also really love this machine and what it can output. I had to scrap a bunch of the raw material because there was just so much content. Making those musical decisions really come down to what's currently speaking to me at the moment. I'm sure if I revisited the raw sounds today or even months from now I would choose different sounds and make a totally different song :)

This was fantastic! Didn’t even know video synths existed, now I want one 😂

Yea they're super fun but rare! I saw some resources online that you can make some with VGA feedback too if you want to try! You could also try other video techniques like camera feedback as shown in my RCA patch bay video! Have fun exploring! 😄

a spectroscope might help with "im not hearing anything", since it could be outputting frequencies below or above our hearing range; very interesting piece of gear, i forgot video synthesizers existed!

True!! That would definitely help! I have one but totally didn't think of plugging one in! Thanks for the great idea!! 😄

I'm reminded of a eurorack module I once saw that output similar things, but you had to patch an out from another module to get it to react. Interesting to have them both together. The way the video is shot I kinda have to take your word from it on the colors. They're a lot more washed out than your reactions indicate. Video synths are so cool. Does this only work on CRTs or is was this just add to the aesthetic?

Ouu yea the eurorack stuff is cool for video stuff as well, maybe it was an LZX industries module? The image and colour also has a more grit and colour when viewed on an actual CRT in person, as opposed to watching a high-def video of a crt maybe? It has RCA, S-video, and VGA out, the first two being a lot easier to integrate with other a/v gear haha
