I am excited about the 1528 bookshelf speakers video coming next year, but also want a review of the 1528 monitor speakers. I am hopeful for both reviews because already know about the towers, and my next pair of speakers will be 1 of the 3. It will be a tough decision between the towers, bookshelf, and monitor speakers, but I know you can help me decide with your videos. Thanks

Consider each to have a similar soundsignature. They are neutral with a hint of warmth from the solid base performance all got. What you get no matter Which model you go for is end game quality. Do you have the 5-10k$ and space for them ? Do you prefere towers or bookshelves? The monitor is somewhat Inbetween both
@robertforet4477Ай бұрын
@wegardfjeld3789 All 3 speakers are big, and I am having a tough time deciding wether to go with the towers or the monitors. I have space for either according to Arendal. But, I need to see a complete review on the monitors because I have 3 reviews on the towers and no review on the monitors. My space is 26 ft long, but Trying to figure out if the monitor would be enough and maybe the tower

@@robertforet4477 Pretty sure the Monitor would be enough to fill your room with musical happiness. The tower is however also capable of bringing the roof down. The bigger the speaker the more dampening you need. The only way to figure it out would be to trial them

The arendals new center speaker is so big it could do stereo by itself. Certainly made for bigger spaces. I really liker their bookshelf or monitors as a more balanced alternative, they are all 3-way speakers and just seem like a better fit for most spaces.

All the best for 2025. I’m waiting to order the Arendal 1528 Bookshelf 8 (my space is smallish, too) but the acoustically matched custom stands I see in reviews aren’t on the website. I really want those stands. So, I contacted Arendal and they got right back to say that those stands are pre-production prototypes that will be finalized for release in early 2025. When you do your review, information about the stands would be really helpful. Thanks.

Hey my friend. there are "LOT'S" of "very good" speakers out there that are between $400 to $1,200 that will provide a wonderful listening experience (For example, check out ELAC's new 3.0 - DBR 63). In addition, (just saying) if you don't have a great listening room/ proper placement of speakers & excellent hearing it can be money down the drain in spending more money.
@howardskeivys4184Ай бұрын
You don’t need a 2nd mortgage to purchase exotic audio equipment to enable you to enjoy listening to music. It’s not difficult to assemble a fantastic sounding audio system on a shoestring budget. The difference between a system costing 3000 and one costing 30000 is nowhere near 10 times better. Yeh, if you’re an enthusiast and you have 30000 disposable income you may well decide that the difference that extra 27000 makes is worth it, but that does not degrade the true value and enjoyment factor of the 3000 system.
@billarmstrong5568Ай бұрын
Because Arendal sell direct their pricing is already about 50% less than they would cost from a local dealer. And is $4k dollars really a huge investment for a quality European manufactured product you could easily still be playing the heck out of 25yrs down the line? I don't think so.

There are other KZbin channels that are better tailored for that than this one. I consume KZbin across a range of talents and topics, and the instant presentation of this one oozed “high end expensive” - and is why I avoided it for a while. Combined with little objective/numerical evidence to at least occasionally back up the opinion rubbed me the wrong way.

@@Jayiyagi I just got an Arcam class A/B AVR21 110 watt 8 ohms per 7.1 channels that will do 160 watts 2 channel 4 ohms. A decent AV receiver. I got a Great price on it, for stereo, AV 4k blu ray movie and audio and DSD hi rez audio format capabilities, all around uses. I had planned on getting Martin Logan Motion XT f200 600 watt 3-8 inch woofer towers with 27hz bass extension, in a year, for all AV, music around use. i just discovered the 3 Arendal 1528 series, tower 8, monitor, and bookshelves, thanks for all your informative initial impressions on them! The new top tier Arendal series seem to be a higher level of performance compared to the most expensive Martin Logan f200 which lists $5,500. I am will to save up for any of these 3 Arendal 1538 speakers longer, and is my decent Arcam toroidal transformer AV receiver enough to drive the 3 Arendals at at least moderate listening levels, at this point? I don't have to have 500 watt powered speaker loudness, but it's a great attribute to me to have when i want it. I was planning on a high end 2 channel audiophile music system for critical 2 channel superior sound quality, resolution, 2 or 3 years later. The 3 Arendals might fit the bill right now, in addition to great AV capabilities, 4k blu ray movies, and hi rez streaming, this or next year, instead of getting a Hegel $5,000 integrated for the 2 channel Audiophile system later, which is obviously a step up from an Arcam AVR21 receiver. but that Saved $5,000 could upgrade from the Martin Logan f200s for any of the Arendal 1528 type speaker models. And maybe cover the cost of an Emotiva high power only $2,000 cost xpa-dr2 differential reference two-channel power amplifier at 550 watts 8 ohm, 800 watts 4 ohm, which would power my Arcam front 2 channels to high sound level capability it didn't previously had. Covering the loud music potential completely right now, with the Arendals having better sound quality, higher volume, bass response, than the f200 towers would. Then later lower wattage 2 channel stereo systems would not necessitate high sound level capabilties, the Arendal, Arcam, Emotiva system would cover that. The future 2 channel system could focus on sound quality, instead of also loud volume capabilities, leaving open the possibilty of tube amps and mini monitors, for the first time, for me. The Arcam Arendal would cover more than just movie and music quality and loud volume, and i could focus on a Quality 2 channel setup 2 to 4 years later without factoring in if it would play loud enough for all situations. The Arendals in the home theater would cover that. Arendal Bookshelfs are 500 watts, Monitors 700 watts, and Tower 8 s 1,000 watts. something i didn't know from your videos, but very intriguing. My later 2 channel stereo choices could be totally unrestricted by loudness capabilties. I don't mind listening to quiet 2 channel stereo, but also like loud movies and music at times, also for home theater. My home theater room is 20 ft wide, 12 feet deep.. 2 channel room is 11 ft. by 11 ft. I may be in a bigger listening area rooms later, too. The Arendals have changed my 3 year plans totally. Most loud AV speaker choices for my price level have had compromises at the price point, until the Arendals. Thanks for the great reviews and insight!

So Jay, your click bate mentions “best audiophile speaker”. Can you please differentiate between an audiophile speaker and a non audiophile speaker? Also, how do you quantify “best”? Surely this comes down to personal preference?
@JayiyagiАй бұрын
Audiophile speakers prioritize high-fidelity sound reproduction, using premium materials and precise engineering for a superior audio experience. Normal speakers are designed for general use, focusing on affordability, convenience, and broader sound preferences like enhanced bass or loudness. Since this is my channel and Jay's iyagi means Jay's story, as I've stated in this video - it would be "best" based on my opinion and objective data from what I have reviewed in 2024
@howardskeivys4184Ай бұрын
So how do non audiophiles differentiate? Speakers aren’t labeled as such. If a speaker is advertised at $999 how can a non audiophile determine whether it is an entry level audiophile speaker, or a premium non audiophile speaker?
@JayiyagiАй бұрын
@@howardskeivys4184 As the term "audiophile" or "audiophile quality" really pertains to the expectation of quality of build and sound quality for those that do care about these qualities in their audio product, it really is determined by the consumer or end user all the same as how one would shop for an audiophile speaker - through listening and experiencing it for themselves. Just like quality standard is a spectrum based on the individual's taste and experience level of said product category, just the same, I personally may not think some Bluetooth speaker off amazon or powered bookshelves may fit into the "audiophile" category but some may very much feel that they do if that is to their taste and aligns with their expectations based on their previously owned audio products.
@howardskeivys4184Ай бұрын
So that invalidates your original response that an audiophile speaker was built by the manufacturer to higher standards, including parts, electronics and specs. Because your now saying that whether or not speaker is classed as audiophile, is at the discretion of the end user.
@JayiyagiАй бұрын
@@howardskeivys4184 it does not. An audiophile speaker may be designed with the qualities I have specified above. How that is “perceived” to the end user is a different matter based on subjective taste and experience.

They look good enough to give it a hard think but not good enough to pull the trigger. Reminds me of Nuance speakers from the 90’s. Jay you are Canadian but probably too young to understand. The sound might be amazing and maybe even the build quality but they have to clean up the looks. And you’re not likely to make comment as you are on their payroll I think, but fellow commenters… tell me I’m wrong here.

Aesthetic taste is a subjective thing so it very much may not be for you. I am on no companies payroll. No money or product exchanged hands unless disclosed Cheers

I think they look great and the build quality is exceptional.

You're wrong here. In more ways than one. I've had the 1723 monitors and the design and finish was great. The quality and finish is on a level rarely seen in this price range.. The issue with them was the size was too big for my home office. I can see that the basalt colour choice isn't my preference either, but I'm pretty sure the white looks great and hopefully Arendal comes with a darker shade soon too.

Arendal speakers are good, but resale is miserable…just sayin

I'm curious, where do you live ? What speaker have you tried to sell and where ? Here they are nigh impossible to find used outside Arendals own reselling system. The trade up system is really good too.

Bad pick. Mofi 888, Dali Epikore7 and Aucoustic 6.2 are much better...

@@Jayiyagi I am not confusing anything : you have an incentive to have people use your affiliate links for these products, thus your opinion cannot be trusted.

if that's your view, that's perfectly fine. I disclose all paid sponsorships and affiliate links so that you can make that choice.
