Definitely! Jordie at full back is starting to look like the real deal; wonderful kicking under pressure. Richie looks great at Super level, playing with his team mates week in, week out. However, for me, he ought to have kicked the last conversion at that range and angle, and That is what separates great Super number 10's from great All Black number 10's.

What an incredible game of rugby! Can't fault Mo'unga! One thing, can someone explain when an advantage is over? The Crusaders moved the ball forward beyond 20ms yet ref called it back after two different scrum penalties. This is becoming bit of a joke...what is the point?? I thought advantage was two positive plays and then it's over. This rule, and acrumhalves adding players to the back of a ruck for a boxkick really need addressing. Also, Crusaders lucky they weren't pinged for obstruction in attack. Moody was fairly tackled as he ran across, as was Whitelock lead blocking for Mo'unga for their last try. And what's the go with players criss crossing each other creating a wall of 'retreating players' for their own player to catch a high ball. Again, I know every team does this but it's obstruction! Crusaders are very clinical, yet very good at being cynical and getting away with only warnings. I do enjoy seeing them punished for illdiscipline, especially when they repeatedly infringe being offside. Good to see a ref make a stand and pull then up on it yet I'd like to see a card shown to really stamp it out early. Jordie is stringing better games together and climbing out of his brothers shadow, Laumape was phenomenal! Crusaders struggled to stop him, yet then scrambled to cover and were deservedly pinged for being offside. Solid game overall! Congrats to the Canes for keeping the Saders from running away with too big of a lead on the ladder and keeping the competition competitive towards the business end.

All modern interpretations are designed to encourage positive attacking play, a long advantage is a perfect example of this.

@El Scruffo McScruffy I didn't see the incident you are referring to, but the advantage law is applied differently for a scrum and penalty advantage. Think of it like this, if you have a penalty advantage, but you know that you will lose that advantage after two positive plays during which you advance say 20m in total, many teams would opt to rather just take the penalty, kick it out and get a line-out 40m down field, or take the points. I don't think this is what anyone wants. As for the two positive plays thing, I doubt that's ever been part of the laws of the game, somebody might've tried to explain it that way, or some referee(s) might have used it as a rule of thumb. This SR Aotearoa comp proves why Super Rugby can never go back to its previous form. The players seem to enjoy it a lot more and the fan engagement is better than ever. My preference would be a trans-Tasman comp with 5 Kiwi and 5 Aussie teams (the Aussies will get better 🙏) and then later add a Pacific Island team and a Japanese team. South Africa can concentrate on the Currie Cup and make it the premier domestic competition again. Argentina is a conundrum. The best way forward is probably to make up two teams consisting of the Jaguares and Pampas players (split the talent 50-50) and then join the Major League Rugby comp in the USA.

Wow this referee nearly gave it to the Saders. 4:04 Because there were people binding on the guy who lifted the ball, a penalty should have been given to the Canes instead of a try to the Saders. You cannot turn a ruck into a maul. 6:02 Goodhue definitely in front of the ball carrier and hindering the defence. Play waved on. Luckily the right side still won the game.

Absolutely agree. Plus Moody was fairly bumped for running a lead blocking line in the first half and earned a penalty through acting. And the offside penalties after penalties. Sending a player o the bin early in a game after 3 offside penalties would put a stop to it quick fast. Crusaders are just too clinical at pushing the boundaries and getting away with only copping warnings. Frustrating dude, I feel the same!
