Drua themselves lost the game. But man oh man, drua is getting better and better. They just need to fix the small mistakes. Especially the decision making part. They play individually. If they play together as a unit, theyll be hard to beat but i salute the Drua for another outstanding performance. Good win for the Waikato Chiefs.

@kupacronk0 Yes of course. If you see closely, Drua had so many chances but they keep making mistakes. If they can fix that, it's either they win or a close game. They didn't score till the last 10 minutes. Thats where they put up points. Most of us or all were expecting a blow out. Like 50 to 60 points difference. So I'll take the 33 points. I mean we playing against the number 1 team in super rugby right now 🤷‍♂️

OK. reality check. Fiji Drua played well for periods, But did not lose the game themselves, They were outplayed by the Chiefs. Simple 1-2 cut passes made them work far to hard. They are a good team, but didn't lose the game themselves.

The drua side made way too many errors. They won only 2 to 3 out of over 10 of their line outs. Not to mention the amount of time they had the ball ripped away etc. They also need a good kicker. Teti tela isn't a good kicker. They should bring valentini on to be the kicker. I don't know why they're benching him. He was the guy that came on and delivered the winning penalty against crusaders. He is also the brother of valentini, the flanker for brumbies. He is a way better kicker than teti tela. Fiji were really good on defense. The problem was them immediately giving up the ball again everytime they turned it over from chiefs.

They just played in the wrong part of the field....all kiwi and aussie teams kick to the opposing side to gain territory...only a 2nd class team like the drua want to run the ball from their 22 everytime...it works during broken play...not when you're having a defensive scrum on your 5m or a defensive line out...exit strategy, very poor

Drua needs to learn not to always try and run the ball from their own 22 meter line. A few turn overs are because they want to run the ball instead of kicking it away to gain territory advantages. Why want to run that ball when the risk is too high? Even the kickers don't know that the higher you kick the distance is less. The PUNT space balls are always good advantages.

Yet again a team with a good mixture of European, Maori and Pacific Islanders beat a team of just Islanders convincingly. Its almost as if the unification of all people, regardless of race coming together, applying their own unique brand of Rugby with a New Zealand coaching system are able to not only play together as a cohesive unit but beat a team based on race soundly. That's exactly what the allied forces during ww2 did to eventually defeat the Germans. Cultures from all walks of life putting aside differences to achieve one common goal.

Poor analysis through a euro lens and lack of research. Drua only entered the comp last year. This is a top tier competition. Nothing to do with race. Playing top teams like the Chiefs is hugely beneficial for Drua to identify errors and improve on strategy. Fijian rugby is made up of broken play, in order to even stand a chance against giants like the Chiefs, they have to refine their play and be more cohesive in their execution. They have major potential. I look forward to witnessing Drua develop over the years (hopefully Europe don't steal all our players).

That is the very antithesis of something being race based. It would be no different if we had a team called the New Zealand Colonials and that team had nothing but white guys in the franchise. Or, perhaps more poignantly, the All Blacks, Wallabies, Kangaroos or Kiwis just decided to never select Pacific Island players ever again making a concerted effort to only choose players of European descent. Imagine the outrage (Rightfully so) if that ever happened. I imagine a certain percentage of the general global populace would all lose their collective shit with one unanimous groan. But because you're looking through a Pacific Island lens and you do so with implicit bias you can't or worse yet, don't want to see the blatant racial element in front of you. Even the Jaguares of Argentina had players from South Africa, Georgia and America take the field for them. And Rugby is strong in South America too. And, as far as having players "Stolen" or teams and countries "Stealing" players. If you're so worried, tell these players to stop moving to these countries that supposedly "steal". If they come recruiting, have those same players simply decline the offer. Have those same players remain in the islands. But they won't. None of you with this particular mindset that players are being stolen will do a damn thing to stop the exodus of top Pacific Island talent because neither you, your country of origin or the nation you're connected to by heritage has the funds or the resources to keep them. All Pacific Island players will forever be reliant on the New Zealand and Australian systems to support, grow and nurture that talent. For some, these are grown adult men with enough cognizance to make decisions that knowingly have ramifications tethered to them. If they're teenagers, they have parents who should be advocates against playing poaching. But again, they're not. Because they want the white man's money, using the white man's resources while simultaneously blaming the white man for every single discrepancy imaginable. However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting a better life, its a commendable act to not only consider the welfare of your pre existing family but also securing a better future for those who are yet to come. Stealing is when you take something that doesn't belong to you without the correct compensation. Pacific island players aren't being stolen, they're being purchased and following the money. You made a disingenuous remark and you, for the most part argue in bad faith.

Secondly, if you had done your research, you would know that the Drua initiative is an attempt by the Fiji Rugby Union to expose local players to elite level competition and to prepare players who seek to represent Fiji for the rigors of international rugby.That is the underlying reason and the primary factor behind the initiative. In addition, the reason why the team is made up of Fijians is that in Fiji, the overwhelming majority of rugby players are indigenous Fijians, unlike NZ and Australia where you have a number of ethnic/racial groups involved in the sport . There is no discriminatory policy in place in Fiji preventing other ethnicities from being selected into the team. In fact, the first fly half for the team was a white guy who has now moved on. Thirdly, if we are to follow your logic and assume that multiracial teams are better than those of a single race, how is it that teams such as South Africa and England which are predominantly white have managed to win Rugby World Cups? Your arguments just don't make sense.
