Great presentation Fil, a delight to follow along with! I've said it before, but your cat is awesome..... it's obvious the bond you have. It's weird how interested they always are when building a kit, all of mine have been that way.... Usually either sitting on the manual, or knocking the components everywhere with their tail! A mild to moderate meth addiction.... Love it! 😂 😅 🤣 I have exactly the same issue, with the eyes, not the crystal! I painted my 959 shelf queen's eyes at least ten times- First he looked Chinese, then Downy, then like Frankenstein..... before eventually looking like he had consumed copious amounts of speed! 😂 Why is it so hard to do eye balls? 🤔 Anyway, Kudos to the superstock RZ..... possibly my favourite modern brushed motor! 27,000 rpm, loads of torque, great top end, and lay down brushes. My weapon of choice in my turbo Optima, Top force, Top force evo, and RC10b6. 2. Like you say, it's a perfect choice for many 4wd buggies.... that thing is going to shift man! Also, couldn't agree more with the servo.... I got sick of many of the 6/7 kg servos not self centering under load, and now always fit a 20kg. Its not worth cutting corners on the servo if you plan to run the model. Was really impressed with how well Addams performed around the track, especially bearing in mind how old the design is, they look like a fun drive. I'm guessing with all these new kits you have been building recently that you are secretly assessing their potential for next years speed run challenge? Or maybe the platform has already been decided? Speaking to many of the other channels it seems it was the highlight of most peoples year last year.... and I would have to agree! Looking forward to her first run mate, cheers for sharing! 👍 👍 👍

@@poorboysrc Agreed fella, can't beat a good pussy.... Just feed them, give them a stroke and play with them and they will always pay you back ten fold! 😂 😅 🤣😸 Yep, my hard 'partying' days are pretty much done and dusted, favouring a few ciders and a little bit of tyre sniffing to fill the void now as I get older..... and of course this marvellous hobby helps keep me out of mischief.... well kind of! 😉 As for the speed run car.... I have a few potential candidates short listed in my head that you may go with. I think part of the reason the last two were such a success is because they were cheap/basic/easily obtainable kits that didn't have the best handling in stock form! They also both had a great source of hop ups and cheap spares available. All I can say is it's a good job you're now a full time poor boy.... because if it's anywhere near as popular as last year you are going to have your work well and truly cut out! 😂 Have a great weekend Sir. 👍 👍 👍

Yeah, man, great video again, I enjoyed this a lot! It's not a kit that I am interested in, but I did hear a lot of good about it... Great idea with the higher powered servo, it's a good tip to include in a build video. Yeah, the build process you asked about: I started doing something a bit different after I did the Kyosho Dirtmaster. So the last three kits, I have cut all plastic parts off the parts trees and put them in a bowl, and threw away all the extra plastic (it's a lot!)... The challenge is then to figure the shape of the pieces and compare to the manual and assemble it right, so far went alright that way... Apart from that, I'm really messy, I use up all the space on the living room table, ha ha! Have a good one there, buddy, I am looking forward to your Durga videos!

nice looking buggy! was wondering what do you do with your extra parts that come in the kits? do you keep them organized (ex. 3x10mm vs 3x8mm) and keep them all together from all the builds or do you put them back in bags and put them in the original boxes? give the cat some treats for all the help and support! also, nice to hear your wife enjoys R/C's. now to find a girlfriend with the same interest.
@poorboysrc8 ай бұрын
Great question! If the parts are vehicle-specific, I'll keep them in the box and store the box away (I keep all my boxes in my crawl-space). As for the generic parts (screws, washers, etc...) I put them in my parts bin on the table. I have the drawers categorized (Tamiya, metric, imperial, etc...) so it's easy to find a screw when I need one. As for the cats, they love being on camera and helping their cat-dad with a good build project. They're so awesome! And my advice with the GF situation, you may be surprised how many of them actually enjoy RC. You just need to get that radio in their hands, and let them take the wheel. When I met my wife she would come down into my hobby room and be like "what the hell is all this???" -- I told her, this is me, this is WHAT I DO, and it's NOT going to change, lol! She heard the message loud and clear, and has been a supporter of my RC hobby since we met 8 years ago. :)

I have a controller, 2 battery sticks, and a fast charger, but is there anything else I need to make it a smooth, great build on my first attempt
@poorboysrc6 ай бұрын
Great pick for a first RC! 4WD buggies are so versatile, you'll love it! So you're going to need a good steering servo. I always recommend hitting up your local hobby shop first to see what they have in stock. You do not need to spend $100 on a servo, either. Brands like Injora, Power HD, etc. All make excellent waterproof (which is a must, IMO) servos in the $20 range. If your LHS doesn't have any, then Amazon is a good #2 choice. Your controller should come with a receiver, so you're good to go there. Did your Suoer Sabre kit come with a speed controller? Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. If not, I recommend the Hobbywing 1060 or 1080. 1060 is a bit cheaper, and has less functionality, but works really well. I use them in 80% of my RC's. Both are waterproof, too! From there you should really co soder ball bearings. Tamiya gives you plastic bushings in every kit, which wear out fast, and can wreak havoc on your drivetrain. "Fast Eddy" brand bearings are pretty much the best bang for your buck out there. If you can't find a set for the Super Sabre, remember, the Boomerang is the exact same car, and I'm sure Fast Eddy will have a set for the Boomer. And that's it! The body comes pre painted and trimmed, so no struggles there. Learn to drive it on the stock motor, and when you master that, look at maybe getting a Tamiya Super Stock BZ, or something similar for a little more speed. Have fun with the build! If you get stuck, just email me at poorboysrc78@gmail.com 👊🏼

Hi All. I just built one of these. Fun wow. But there is a bump in the front drive train which seems to be that the angle of the dog bone into its receiver is too great. It seems built to spec from box. If I raise axles it runs smooth. Anybody experience this?
@poorboysrc7 ай бұрын
This is a very common occurrence in many Tamiya kits. If the suspension is at full droop (say resting on a bench) the dogbones bind in the drive cups, causing an awful vibration. It will go away when the weight of the kit is placed on the ground. Don't worry, it's not just you, you didn't do anything wrong, haha. It's just part of "the Tamiya way." :)
