It was a 13 x 11 inch Pearl Championship Maple FFX Marching Snare Drum in Midnight Black that I had cut down and re-wrapped by Jeff Beardeaux (look him up on Facebook - when you see a wall of custom snare pics, you're in the right place 😉). I'm pretty sure he's made multiple super shorty snares in the past couple of years and would be happy to make more! 😁

Besides the red, that looks just like the drum that was for sale on eBay a few years ago. Nobody bought it for a long time and I’m not sure what happened to it. I really wanted it but they were selling it for around $800.

Honestly, for a first marching snare, just keep an eye on all the sites (Facebook, Craigslist, eBay, Reverb) and wait for a good deal. You should be able to find a decent used drum for less than $200. Good luck!! 😁🍀

Yup! - **Top Head:** 13" RED Remo Colortone Crimplock *(typically a quad head)* with ~1.5" of tone foam on the underside of the head *(to reduce overtones)* - **Bottom Head:** 13" Evans MS3 *(wanted to use a non-kevlar head for the bottom, but wanted something that would reduce overtones a bit, and the MS3 comes with an internal ring for that exact purpose)* - **Sticks:** Going old school with a pair of Vic Firth MS2's *(with some clear stick tape)*
