Hey Coaches, What are your favorite screens to run at the middle school level?
@davidritter64437 жыл бұрын
I used the 3 by 1 concept a lot . We call the 3/1 to the Right "Jerry" and to the Left "Bella". We utilize all 3 concepts you have on this video. They work great! We have signals for the QB to throw to the Y the F and the R. What we found is that DCs will roll their safety over the top to protect against the Y running the wheel. When they do this we signal to throw the slant to the backside "L". All 4 of my receivers scored in our last game. We threw for 223 yards and ran for 178! Scored 44 points! Scored 52 the week before while running for 230 and passing for 204! It may not work for all but it works for us!

We are a 5/6 combo youth team running IZ and OZ out of Deuces, Pistol Left and Right, Trey Left and Right. We throw all of our routes out of each of these formations, keeping the terminology the same, just in different looks. Our formations have at least 2 WRs to one side every time, we run a version of these screens. 1 and 2, 1 the outside receiver is catching and the inside is blocking outside defender, vise virsa for 2, inside catching, outside blocking inside defender.

Coach Harrison, Sounds good coach. How successful are ya'll? Do the kids seem to enjoy it?

Super-screen is always deadly...especially at that young age where most just tear on up the field. Also, the hotshot screen (Uncovered principle) and tunnel/throwback screens are ideal back-breakers

+Eric Kilpatrick That is a deadly screen

so for your hotshot screen, you have a different play called, but if a kid is uncovered you just revert to the hotshot screen?

Wow that last one is advanced! I think I would just have the tackle step and pull the y run a seam (which could later be turned into a corner), the F block the CB and the r run underneath replacing the y and looking to get behind the pulling OLine. For the corner concept I added into this I think it would make a nice 2pt conversion play, the QB would be running a bootleg and the R and F would both block to the inside so the QB could get outside and run or pass it in here. I also have a question, you are talking about installing a AirRaid offense, how long do you suggest this install take, in other words, whats the speed of progressing we should be installed at. A week? or less?
@CoachMcKie7 жыл бұрын
Coach Queen, You could install the Air Raid offense in three days. Then after the third day you will go back to what you in for the first install. That's the beautiful thing about this offense. It is all about reps, reps, reps.

@coach mckie do you have aa bunch package
@CoachMcKie7 жыл бұрын
+Berglan Not really. The only time we are in bunch is if we run our key screens into that boundary.

Coach, of course there is a little mistake: you got 8 guys on the line, but my question is: which online/offline rules work best for you in KEY2?
@cadesanders38747 жыл бұрын
Some will ru 4-3 with 10-12 yard deep safetys and 2 CBs in press
