Some of the new smashes were disappointing. I miss some of the old ones. Like Luigi's, surprisingly. It was interesting, and if you used the critical on his up special it was almost always a guaranteed kill by that point. But a lot of people tend to forget that they inherently are just flashy specials that're relative to the character using them. Not exactly balanced for combat: You don't get them often enough, and some characters WILL have a stronger smash than others. It doesn't stop them from looking enjoyable. Doesn't stop them from being fun to use unless you spam them. All in all, they add to the experience. Don't want them in? It's as simple as turning them off.

Out of all of the brawl characters it's pretty disappointing that only kirby, dedede , luigi , zero suit samus, pit, R.O,B and lucario (and charizard if you count him but there's no pokemon trainer) for whatever reason have new final smashes while everyone else has the very same FS from brawl. sure some of them are updated (very little) but that doesn't really change much. i can understand leaving some of them the same but why update only a few and just leave everything else the same?

That's been the question i've been asking since Brawl, why certain characters got better treatment over the others, like how Wario, link, and toon link were the only ones who had costume changes while everyone else just had color reskins. It certainly doesn't seem like they're that good at actually fleshing out the potential of the entire smash scene as opposed to playing favorites.

The reason those Final Smashes got changed was likely because of balance reasons, or them simply feeling lackluster. Or, in Zero Suit Samus' case, because she became her own separate character rather than using the Final Smash to switch back and forth. Kirby, I dunno. Dedede had one of the worse Final Smashes, while Luigi's was just *WEIRD*. Pit, well, with Palutena being a fighter now, her sending her army to help him is less fitting. R.O.B, dunno. Maybe the extra passive lasers just felt lackluster. Lucario's Final Smash was too easy to dodge, and "steered" too slowly. Plus this was an excuse to plug Pokemon Gen 6 by adding the Mega Evolutions.

When Robin's Trailer got released, I thought he/she was gonna summon Grima for his/her Final Smash But i Don't have a problem with the final smash he/she has now, I guess nintendo wanted to add chrom in his/her final smash to statsify those who wanted chrom in the game Res of the Final SMashes are good in my opinion (except how dark pit got zelda's final smash, that kinda disappointed me)

I mean, look at how almost all Final Smashes hit and it's an instant K.O But if you fight one vs one, good luck killing your foe or even taking a stock before a minute expires. Same here! :D Sure wish they would've changed it! I think it would've been great if they gave her the "Peach Beam" from Paper Mario as her Final Smash. The Star Spirits would come down and assist her and they would help her summon the beam. The beam would capture players (that was near her) and engulf them in a shining light, building up each of their damage percentages (similar to Rosalina's Power Star. If you throw players in the star that is). And once the beam gave out, it would send players flying of the course. But it would depend on their damage percent to how far they would fly off. At least that's my idea to what it should've been.

I dunno, the final smashs seem disappointing, like most from the same franchise were copy and paste of other characters, Like Falco could gotten an Arwing the Fire Emblem Chracters could of gotten something different then a Great Aether or Marth's One-hit slash. Zelda could of gotten something from Skyward Sword like that bird or something Shiek is still an OoT thing so Light Arrows are natural. Say what you will but some of these need a lot of work to come interesting. I wish Peach had gotten something better since i liked using her in brawl but her Final Smash was plain useless unless someone was on at least 100% damage and she's had a few games to get some decent moves. That being said, some are nice like the Pac-man one and Zero Suit Samus' final smash and Luigi's vacuum cleaner thing from Luigi's Mansion
