Remember, people keep saying that these Assist Trophies mean the character is disconfirmed, once a character becomes an Assist, the same character cannot become a Fighter later during the DLC. There was never any official statement saying that, fans just assumed that. People said Trophies and Spirits disconfirm, and we got Lucas, Mewtwo, Min-Min, Pyra and Mythra.

There is a possibility. Little Mac, Isabelle, and Dark Samus both started out as assist trophies, but in the next Super Smash Bros title, they became playable.

There was never any statement that once the character becomes an Assist Trophy, the same character cannot become a fighter in the same game during the DLC. People said the same thing about Trophies ane Spirits, then we got Lucas, Mewtwo, Min-Min, Pyra and Mythra.

Quick Question: Why did Ken make it to Smash and not Shadow? I know Street Fighter is Capcom and Sonic is Sega but it makes no sense that a fighting game character made it to Smash before a popular Dreamcast character did and if Shadow did make it to Smash he would've been the first Dreamcast fighter in the game
