Super Sniper Coil Iron Bed Metal Detecting Garrett AT Pro

This is a field and trash site hunt going into the evening hours. I have my headlamp this time! I am metal detecting on a property with a late 1800s homesite using the Garrett AT Pro with the Super Sniper 5.5” coil. Settings are Pro Zero Mode, Iron Discrimination 40 and Sensitivity down 2 bars...ground balanced and ready to go. I experience some minor frustration with the infamous disappearing signals amazing nest the iron in this hunt but keep pushing through to see what I can find. Equipment used in most of my videos:
Metal detectors are Garrett AT Pro, Garrett AT Max and Minelab Equinox 800.
Digging Tools are Lesche Sampson 31” Double Serrated Shovel, Razorback Shovel, Lesche Hand Digger, Fiskars Rake rand various other shovels, cultivators and rakes.

Wish I’d found more! I meant to leave that video without too much editing like a more raw hunt as I don’t always find what I’d like to every time. If you have some particular areas in mind it works great but to cover a larger area it would be tough as it is a tiny coil!

Haha!!! I love your comment! I can’t stand the sound of the Pinpointer! I won’t be getting the zlink one bc I couldn’t take all that noise. Vibrate works great!

Those sniper coils are so useful i have one for my whites, its great for trashy and tight areas. There is a lot of relics you keep digging there. Very cool!

Thanks! I think I need to do some raking for a bit of that area just to see anything I’ve missed. So many signals. I have been scouting a few new spots to dig other than that one for variety. This spot keeps calling me back though.

Thanks Liz. It is a concentric coil so different than the Double D coil. My favorite could for the AT Pro and the AT Max is the 5”x8” Double D coil. It has pretty good depth and separation too.

Agreed! I have been using the stock coil to cover more area quickly but it is too heavy for me. The 5”x8” is so light!

I used the sniper coil for the Ace250 and found lots of stuff the stock coil could not pick up in tighter spots. Takes a lot to cover grounds with a small coil.. But we all do it over larger fields ..Got dark and you could not stop.. losing track of time when out detecting is fun

My hunting time has been shortened as one of my kids is no longer napping lol! So...I’ve been hunting in the evenings here and there and always come in bc since the time change it’s dark by 6:30pm now! I remembered to grab my headlamp on my way out so I could stay out! It’s always hard to stop detecting though. Sometimes I say “5 more holes then go in” to myself lol!

When you're enjoying the day hunting so much that you can't stop and it turns into a night hunt 😂 You're braver than I am 😱 The Conestoga bell pieces are too cool; one day each of us will find our complete ones 👍👍 I'll have to go through some of my earliest finds tonight, I need to see what is trash and what is feature 😁 Maybe I'll have something cool that I had no clue was saved and it's awesome!!

My husband saw me grab that headlamp on my way out and he knew I wasn’t coming back for a while lol! It is getting dark by 6:30 blah!! No like it! I really am a bit creeped out by all the critters out at night. It’s not quiet out there for sure! I see something dart past me once in a while and then I’m done lol! Yes a complete bell would be great! You may have stuff that is something that you thought was nothing! Never know as we learn about all these new thing!

The sniper coil is good in certain situations like trashy parks and iron filled areas. Fun hunt!! Have you sifted that pit?

Thanks! It does have it’s uses for sure just a bit hard to cover much ground. A small percentage of the county I dig in is hard clay and unfortunately that is where I am! So dirt broken up or loose has been broken up by my shovel and rake or is ash which is a big dusty mess. I may try a little sifting of some of the loose stuff though:)

How do you like the sniper. I have one for my Equinox but not too fan of it. It is very good, but slows me down significantly.

I have had the coil for a long time but rarely use it except around picnic tables at parks bc like you say it is hard to cover much ground at all with it. The 6” coil on the Equinox is a little bigger so it’s a bit better. I’d really like a coil for the Nox that is sized between that one and the stock coil. I really like the 5”x8” coil for the Pro the best. Some people say the smaller coils don’t go as deep but that’s not what I’m looking with them anyhow. Have a good night Roberto:)

Thanks Pat! I have really only tried that coil around picnic tables at parks previous to this. I really prefer the mid size 5”x8” coil! Initially when I found that bell it made my day! I wish the others were there too! Have a good night:)
