Super sprint Tamiya RC truck Race

Learn the tricks of the trade as we try out a new race format at our local club for a bit of fun.
We have featured the Amazing action of the Tamiya TT01e trucks racing shell to shell on a couple of occasions before now. This is some of the best carpet rc car racing action as the lead changed several times throughout a race.
This is a great fun entry level budget race class that has been taken over by some seasoned racers at a couple of our local clubs so it it time we got involved.

You can usually roll the truck back on its feet by turning the front tires and pressing the gas :D Lovely bit of racing there, trucks are fun :D You guys need a second truck so you both can race ;D

@@PopalongRC Oh yeah, kinda forgot. I think there was just a batch issue with some of the old tamiya truck tires, the new ones you get in the 2 tires package seem super supple, as do the ones you get in the kits (buggyra, mercedes). It might just be the ones in the Man trucks, which are the oldest, might have dried a bit, or are a old compound. I've had really good tires I've bought as spares recently, so it looks like there's been a batch that was bad like some yeras ago.

It is a lottery as to weather you get a good set… But of all the tyres in the day those on Nathan’s truck felt softest

@@PopalongRC We had that issue like a season before the previous one, last season everyone had good tires, dont think I heard anyone complain about dried out tires. Perhaps there could be a pile of old stock in the UK in some particular store, and then people who order from somewhere else get newer, that could explain discrepancy. :D I'll keep my fingers crossed that your future tires will be soft and supple ;D

Ah, good old truck racing. I used to race a Fat Fox (Tamiya) at Stevenage, but now I've got into FWD cars the truck has gone, sold it, but it was good fun while it lasted!!

only allowed bearings oil shocks aluminum drive shaft and steering turnbuckles. needs to be stock spur gear and tyres - no additive.

Euro trucks are fun to run and fun to watch. At my local club they require box stock except bearings are allowed as is traction compound. The other classes run compound so it's already soaked into the carpet quite a bit. They also glued up the front sidewalls like you guys did

Love it…its a shame more folks arent up for truck racing. I’d love to have a go at this as a class. We’re looking to get a Group C class going….few of us have got those Tamiya C11 Merc chassis/shell combo, and some are using the Mazda shell so hopefully that will generate a bit of interest and get more taking Group C as a class.

Stupid question, There are 3 different Tamiya Racing Truck bodies, MAN, Mercedes and BUGGYRA, correct? Does the shell makes a difference in handling of the Truck?
