That's a good news story! 🎉 I've got one aswell. We have a solar car park going up in Wollongong, 360kw first stage 240kw 2nd stage 😀 it's pre fab about 50 miles away . The civil work is the same as every where else, trenches concrete etc. But that done, the canopy is 2 weeks instead of 6. They are flying! When finished it will cover 450 to 500 cars

Brian, first, you did great on this interview. You needed to think on the spot and work to get that interview to work. It's almost like you've done this before. 😊 And thanks for the topic. I'm glad you include things like this on your channel.

It looks like they've done a great job. However, that is a premium rental price. A few hundred bucks above the average in the area. The next time I'm traveling through Tigard, I'll see if I can do a drive-by out of curiosity.

It is a fairly wealthy area.

Probably charging a premium for the pristine newness of it.

If it's got that much solar and is completely modern you might have much lower maintenance costs, heating and power costs to pay I suppose.

It’s good to see companies realising they need to cater to EVs.

Hey Brian. What’s the kw rate of the chargers? Most of the ChargePoint chargers I’ve used over the 4 years I’ve had my Tesla are level one or level two. At my home, I just plug into an outlet in my garage which gives me 12kw (5 miles of range an hour). Glad to see sustainable housing is starting to catch on 😅

They said $0.19 in the video.

Interesting black and white, figure/ground, negative space, artwork on the wall. Not sure what it's supposed to be, but it may just be abstract, and it's whatever the viewer sees. I was in the area not too long ago, on 99, then took a wrong turn at Albuquerque, and had a nice run down the Van Duzer, and ended up at the coast. 7 hours of riding later...

These were 6kW. Slow, but each one is a dedicated, reserved spot for a single unit.

Interesting that he got excited about the central location and defined it as being close to three freeways.... True sustainable housing is dense, walkable, and transit oriented... not freeway oriented. He said it's 10 minutes from downtown Portland - I assume this was by car. The real question is what would the time be taking transit? At least it sounds like a train might be coming relatively close in a future expansion.
@FutureAzA4 күн бұрын
Transit access is a big consideration for city dwellers, for sure!

Balcony solar is a thing for a reason, and really should exist in every new apartment block, or at least be setup so you can install it easily. It's being retro-fitted all over Germany apparently. Also there should be provisioning for an EV charger at every spot so that you can put in destination chargers if you want them. They should *know* for a fact that all cars will be EVs well within the life of their building and clearly people want that (or I suppose, chargers with really, really long cables but that's not practical). 6/10 for effort tbh. Could do better. Must try harder.
