I love that it is almost all makeup (depending on what you consider primer lol) and that there is a good selection of well known Benefit products! I do think it would make for a good gift for someone wanting to try out Benefit! I do however wish there was a little more variety since 1/3 of the calendar was the same type of product! I think it would be a good idea if Benefit would customize their advant calenders by selling them in diffrent shade ranges 2,3,4,5. (like their brow products) That way you know the products you're receiving are more likely to match your complexion/brows.

I dont mind the deluxe minis, they're the reason I even buy advent calendars:). I love having a bunch of teeny tiny items that can fit In a small bag to take with me and I never make it through any full size product before it goes bad. I can see why ppl wouldn't be as jazzed though!

Benefit minis in the UK are 12-14 pound each so I can see where they're getting that value from. Would I ever pay it though? Hell no XD They have a million types of mascara and face products that come in muddy orange only XD

Same, the mini mascara's are 18.00 CAD in Canada and their samples are actually decent sized so I think they were pretty accurate on the estimated values.

The plastic ones with the boxes in the boxes or drawers, are reusable. You can easily store a ton of things in that packaging and reuse the boxes for whatever. The Advent Calenders where you have to rip the paper, are a much bigger waste since the packaging isn't reusable.

I liked this calendar for what it was, a mini variety of benefit products. I think it was a little pricey for what was in it, but still a nice variety. You’re moms reaction to the mascaras was adorable. It made her so happy. I am absolutely loving your advent calendar series!

@@Carla-hl3fm if it was any other brand I’d agree, but benefit doesn’t have any eyeshadow listed on ulta currently and only has one lip product. Most of their other products look to be complexion products which you really can’t put in an advent calendar

@@necro447 I can't speak for ultra, but Benefit website lists a few eyeshadow, even a 12 pan pallette (not that it has a good rating), they also do those multi use stain things, and quads with the bronze, blush & highlight which could probably double for eyeshadows at a push. They already took a risk with the hoola mini and the Coloured brow products (i assume they deliberately went for 3 being the medium shade of their range, pwrhaps they went based on most common shade sold?), so it's not much of a leap with the others. I do think they'd benefit (haha pun not intended but I'm leaving it in lol) from having light, medium & dark calendars. Or even based on their shade number system? 🤷

My mom and I are weirdos who actually prefer the mini size to the full size products! I have tiny hands and don’t use things like mascara as often and my mom has arthritis so the smaller size feels better in her hand. This one is so cute. Benefit is so underrated imo!

Yeah technically the value was there since Benefit sells those minis and they are bigger than deluxe samples. But really they should have included at least 1 full size of a product everyone could use. I am giving the colored brow pencil some serious side eye. Also, too many mascaras, they could have swapped one out for another blush or highlighter.

I have never tried that blush but maybe it is like the taste Amazonian clay blushes. If you try and swatch it with a finger there is no payoff at all but use a brush and it's stunning.

A lady bug in your home is good luck. Plus that little guy has probably chosen your home as his hibernation location, so don't be surprised if you see more. They won't cause any damage as long as you don't mess with them. If you frighten them, they'll leave a residue that looks kind of like blood. 2 years ago I had a hive, bundle, cluster, whatever you want to call a group of ladybugs, set up a hibernation cluster in my garage. We just left them alone and they moved out in spring.🙂

I loved your Mum's reaction to mascara! To start with, at the beginning of the calendar, I was impressed that they had made it so small, as some of the packaging for these calendars really is wasteful, but then all that tissue and still oversized boxes, it didn't seem as environmentally friendly as it appeared at the start... in terms of the next calendar you open, I also wouldn't leave the Dior until the very end as I think you are going to be really disappointed.

I LOVE the dandelion blush- I think using a brush makes it show up more. It's a nice and light for when want color but not dramatic color. My skin is not incredibly dark though (not incredibly light either)
