I like this and appreciate how informative these question are. Never knew Jerry and Joe were cousins before! Just the right level of difficulty. Also, you kept it short, and that's a definite plus for me.

Although I do not consider myself an expert on Golden Age comics (or on anything to be honest) I have read a lot of them and quite a bit on them. The reason I enjoyed this quiz is because I only got one right! Most internet quizzes are really just click bait and pretend that you're a genius if you know who Fess Parker was. This one actually taught (or reminded me of) things. The only caveat is that I wished it went on longer. But aside from that - do it again! There are so many interesting questions one could do about the original Sandman, Human Torch, (yes) Wonderman, and on more obscure characters. Look forward to feeling like a dummy again...

This was fun, definitely do more! !I'm still kicking myself for getting 4 wrong. Also re DC and Victor Fox, the Golden Age Blue Beetle and Sparky cameoed in a recent DC comic, though it was a tie-in to the CW Stargirl/Arrowverse stuff instead of a "real" in-continuity story. It was pretty cool and I was honestly blown away.

Interestingly in Canada we had propaganda in the 90s that taught people that Jerry and Joe were cousins, and that they created superman in Toronto, and metropolis is based on Toronto, and the daily planet was based on the Toronto Star building (which looks exactly like the daily planet with out the giant globe). They would run commercials and had commemorative stamps and everything.

A great idea. Your format is perfect. The banter in-between timers and buzzers makes it more entertaining. The question difficulty is also perfect. I only missed the first question. My only complaint is it's too short. Track down a Sheena 3-D #1 by Blackthorne. Jerry Iger talks about her creation and the collaboration with Will Eisner of the character. It's really fascinating and is great material for a video.
@DavidTSmith-jn5bs2 жыл бұрын
Vandal Savage level (missed question #5). That was fun! Yes I'd like to do this again at a later date. Perhaps you can combine the Trivia Challenge with a summary of the character like you started to do with the Wonderman/Fox Publishing scandal. Will Eisner started illustrating it in his "The Dreamer" graphic novel but I want to hear more about it.

This was a lot of fun and some of the questions I thought they were common knowledge to most comic book fans for example the infringement of Superman and Captain Marvel I didn’t know there was a case before that. Also who knew that the creators of Superman were cousins that’s very interesting. Plus I never knew that Bob Kane swiped that cover idea from Alex Raymond I bet there was other artists that he swiped from as well. So the original Superman stories took place in Cleveland? I personally thought that metropolis was another version of California. I say this because Gotham city seemed like New York City and sometimes it is referred to as Gotham. Sure I think you should do this trivia type of stuff every now and then this is the first one and it was pretty cool but back to work on that video on Golden age wonder man. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 thank you for the great fun
@KasumiKenshirou2 жыл бұрын

Metropolis is a small town in southern Illinois. Falling out of the Daily Planet windows was no big deal since it is a one story building. It would be a fun trivia fact to work as a question especially when Metropolis was founded and when they officially became Superman 's hometown. Also, is there a real Smallville and Gotham City?
@elizabethmolino82622 жыл бұрын
@Jeff Jacobson, But ain't Stan Lee was known for that as well too.

@@elizabethmolino8262 No, "swiped" in this context is one artist tracing over the work of another and claiming it as their own.

I got a 3 out of 5, I grew up with a lot of Golden Age reprints and a fair bit of it’s history, so I knew about Siegel & Shuster, The Wonderman lawsuit and Cleveland being the original Superman city, although the skyscrapers that feature in Action Comics #1 were also inspired by the NYC skyline IMHO. I remembered Flash as being a leading figure of the JSA in All Star Comics but had no idea he was the chairman. I had no idea about the Alex Raymond swipe by Bob Kane from Detective Comics #27, although there were several Hal Foster swipes in the earliest Detective Comics that can be spotted if you look for them. Anyways a fun bit of trivia. 🙂
@FizzFop12 жыл бұрын
The swipe question was a bit of a trick question...Kane swiped from all of those artists, but the cover was strictly Alex Raymond. Fans and Historians are constantly looking over Kane's work and discovering new swipes.
