The fact that this storm was only expected to remain as a slop before dissipating in the Marianas. But he doesn't care about the bad conditions he is experiencing so he decided to never give up and become a Cat 5 to enjoy the Late Season Party that started in October 20. Looks like he did not listen nor cared the forecasts.

All Super Typhoons looks the same not only Haiyan. Classic feature of strong storm with visible eye imagery. A lot of that kind of storms already wreck havoc Northern Luzon Philippines. In recorded history since 1950s, Northern Luzon already faced more than 50 Super Typhoons as strong as Category 4/5.
