No. Yamato isn't Fake. The Super Yamato (A-150 Design) on the other hand is a fake.

man simply uss lowa will never stand in front of yamatos 8×18.1 guns. and it also had the world's heaviest armour. on the other hand lowa didn't excel neither in armour nor firepower too much. yeah yeah I admit that that it had the radio controlled guns and a better fire control system than yamato but these advantages never and ever can lead lowa in victory against yamato.

Aditya Pratap Singh if those two giants ever meant it would be a hard one to pick both ships guns fire explosive and armor-piercing shells, and can fire approximately 26 miles. An yes yamato had thicker armor but Iowa had more armor around the ship. Iowa was faster an maneuver quicker with way better fire control system. The Yamato would have to get lucky direct hits at those 26mile range if it could.

people fail to realize just how overmatched the Japanese firing systems were to the United States when the Iowas rolled out. The Iowas were considerably faster, and more maneuverable than the Yamato, giving it a higher chance to dodge incoming salvos. While the Iowas advanced firing system, would allow it to stay locked on to Yamato, even during said maneuvers. Also it would depend on weather, and what time they would engage, as the Iowa would handily beat it at night time and in poor visibility situations, again thanks to the advanced firing system.

Technically the Iowa's 16" super heavy shells had more armor penetration than the yamato's 18.1" shells. At long range the Iowa had every advantage. Speed, precision and penetration.
