Hi, Lisa. Any reason why you didnt buy Front Plate ? Do you still like your carbon kits ?
@redhalftone3 жыл бұрын
I didn't buy it because I was hoping to save some cash and didn't think I needed it. After having everything for a while, I'm considering buying it. I'm still a fan of the kit. I think it makes the bike look great and the larger fenders actually help reduce the spray that comes off the wheels when the road is wet. The front fender rattled a little bit and I think having the front plate would fix that because I see there are holes on the front fender where the two would connect. I fixed the rattle by adding some foam between the fender and the frame for now. That's also the other reason why I'm now considering the front plate.

Hey there I have the whole kit on my RX and I agree that some of the parts don’t align well or at all….In my opinion though, the front fender and the headlight cover go hand in hand since they’re a perfect match unlike the stock headlight cover where you have that awkward gap in between them…..And if you’re up for it, another cool, cheap aesthetic mod would be to replace the tire liners to red. Super 73 has them now in stock the last time I checked. Over all GREAT JOB on the bike. Enjoy it and ride safe!
@redhalftone3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Guess it isn't just me haha. I've heard a few others had alignment issues too. Bummer for such a pricey set. I am considering getting the headlight cover now that I've been riding around with it like this for a bit. Thanks for all the info. Enjoy the ride!

@@redhalftone You’re welcome….Yes the Flow Carbon is pricey but overall the quality is really good! At the end of the day, we DIYers find a way somehow to make it fit. Again great job on the bike and trust me when I say you NEED that headlight cover. It would make your bike look even more badass! The headlight cover and front fender go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly or burger and fries. Lol

Thanks! I'm considering a 2nd battery the newer 32mph speed update really saps the battery quick.

I had the same issue on my L/H panel and has to oversize the mounting hole to get it to fit but this led to the top edge springing away from the frame . Not what I expected after dropping over 800 dollars. The front fork guards were a bad fit to and I needed to spend ages sanding areas to get them to sit straight. I’ve sold my kit now and am producing my own ABS side panels which include decals and a matching front panel decal. 🤙

I hear ya. Someone on Reddit mentioned that the mounting holes on the bike frame are not consistent and a lot of people were having problems with other items they were trying to add. That also could have contributed to the issue. At this point, I'm thinking both S73 and Flow Carbon are inconsistent with their products. I'm surprised to hear the fork guards were a bad fit -- what a bummer. I'd love to see the ABS side panels you're making.

Does the front fender stop your face getting splashed?
@redhalftone2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't completely stop it in heavier rain, but waaaay better than the stock fenders.
@Koiukulele2 жыл бұрын
Did you get the front plate for the light yet? Before you do that, consider buying a headlight from Kanebilt ( I have it on my RX). They look way better than stock, but more importantly, they are way brighter and much safer than the original, especially for the streets of NYC. Aloha from Hawaii
@redhalftone2 жыл бұрын
I haven't yet, but still might get it. I've heard good things about the Kanebilt headlight, but I'm a bit more into the moto look rather than the cafe racer look. I wish they made a smaller one that would fit with the front plate. There might be something else out there that I haven't found yet. Ya'll are doing some pretty dope mods in Hawaii!

How much do you want for your old tire hugger fender?

I don't have it anymore, sorry.

Do they actually work and keep you dry during rain and better compared to stock?
@redhalftone3 жыл бұрын
Yes, these are significantly better than the stock ones. Both the front and back fenders are much longer which helps with tire spray. There is still some spray that comes up in the front but it seems to only get as far as the light. So far so good with the back one. I didn't find any spray on my backpack last time I rode in the rain.

Little tip: You can get a little round jeweler's file, and expand/oblong that hole on the side plate just enough to get your screw to not to bind up. I suspect that it would need just a tiny bit to help fitment, and you'd not notice it once the screw was in place. You might even consider doing it just so it reduces the stress on the carbon and minimizes any chance of stress cracks occurring. I suspect it just needs the tinniest amount shaved off to make it perfect. All that said, contact the maker of the carbon, and let them know before you do anything, is my advice. They might just send you a new one as a matter of good business, and they might like to know if their production jigs are a little off.
