Designed by Patrick Stirling as an O class goods locomotive for the South Eastern Railway, No 65 was built in 1896. With the merger of the LCDR and the SER, No 65 was rebuilt in 1908 into its current form as an O1. It was withdrawn by BR in 1961 as No 31065. It came to the Bluebell Railway where it was returned to steam in 1999. It has since been overhauled again and its current boiler ticket runs until 2027.
