Matthew Lewis deserves a lot of credit for selling Neville's arc. He goes from such a lovable screwup in the first two movies to a complete badass in the last movie. That shot of him cutting Nagini in half may be the most awesome moment in the entire series.

@DreadKyllerАй бұрын
@@Anniebellpotter Yeah but that's kind of the irony of it. The fact that Draco doesn't have dragon heartstring as a core, and instead has unicorn hair, which is hard to turn to the dark side. It reflects pretty well the struggle he goes through with his task in HBP, where he really can't bring himself to actually do the deed, despite his upbringing and bravado he's put out over the prior years, when force came to shove he found it difficult to actually perform an evil deed.

I think it's more fitting for Neville to have Unicorn Hair wand than Phoenix because Phoenix's are known for rebirth (Harry escaped death and Voldemort tried to be immortal, but Neville doesn't have anything to do with death) however Unicorns are known for innocence and I think Neville most of all embodies innocence, he stands up for what's right even at personal cost.

I have a thought that Neville could never be the chosen one because Snape loved lily which he pleaded to Voldemort to spare her. She was offered to step aside in which she still chose death to save Harry. Because she was offered to be spared isn't that part of the love protection? Because Neville's mother wouldn't have been offered the same treatment because Snape didn't love her but did Lily. So the sacrificial love wouldn't work the same as it did for Harry. I could be missing something but just curious! Love the videos, listen to through the Gryffin door on podcast while working!

I don't think there's wandwork in potions. Snape says that many students may not see it as magic at all because there "is no foolish wand waving" in this class. Potions is a superset of alchemy I believe, as it seems to cover alchemical concepts plus neutralizing poisons, creating medicines and restoratives, and creating substances that are clearly alchemical in nature as they transform things, such as felix felicis which grants luck, aging potion, developing potion that allows photos to move, elixir of life, and Voldemort's potion that protected the locket horcrux which resisted transfiguration and vanishing.
@Septimus_ii6 ай бұрын

From Wizarding World ("Olivander's Notes"): The Western wand-purchaser should dispel from their minds any notion that the pink blossom of the living tree makes for a frivolous or merely ornamental wand, for cherry wood often makes a wand that possesses truly lethal power, *whatever the core* , but if teamed with dragon heartstring, the wand ought never to be teamed with a wizard without exceptional self-control and strength of mind. (emphasis added) Granted, the core was unicorn hair, not dragon heeartstring, but still it doesn't seem quite right, even with his character development to that point. Ben's original answer (Ash) made more sense to me. 25:18 Why are we bringing Beast Boy into this?
