I went to the Clipsal while backpacking down under. Not knowing the series at all I just happened to be in Adelaide during that week so bought a ticket and went along. Didn't realize how big the category was at the time but have watched it back in the UK ever since. That was back in 2003 :)

The footage isn't shown but according to spectators from that race, Rick actually launched but stayed in his box and the launch we see is his second and proper one. Back then though the rules deemed it a jump start even though he didn't leave his box thus why he got a penalty

​@@shabaddahuhaSo basically he moved just a bit but not enough to be caught on camera. But enough for the data that race control can see to tell the race stewards that he jump start. Even though from commentators and spectators view that he didn't.

2:10:53 that is me aged 8 years old a couple of weeks before I first stepped in a Kart.. I’m now 25 and have raced all over the world against the likes of Max Verstappen, Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc. Never made it all the way to the top due to funding but had some good times along the way!

Congrats man, I used to race alongside a few now V8 Drivers back in the 90's within karts in QLD but had to move interstate and family didn't have the money to continue on so like you got into e-sports and now doing what I want to do so studying motorsport journalism.

Played and replayed that start a few times, that jump start penalty for Rick Kelly was absolute barnacles. I like Skaifey but I’d say the commentary pairing of Diff and Crompo was better. 👍

That was a hero to zero Greg Murphy from 1:31:18 to 1:31:32. But this race idk it was chaotic a new race winner and two brothers in the podium and that this race a legend was born that Jamie would win the Bathurst 1000 with Craig Lowndes. I could put it up there with the 2014 Bathurst 1000 but yeah its hard because both races had a bit of everything.
