Regarding the mute speaker icon: This is usefull to me. I depend on sound for some notifications, and I tend to mute my Mac during in-person meetings. Having a visual cue to remind me to turn on my sound again would help me not miss the few notifications I allow on my Mac

App author here. This is correct. It's a way to save space in the menu bar for people that only care about the muted status.

Wouldn't it be great if Supercharge had a setting where in Column view inside a finder window, the columns would expand automatically to the longest line width of text in that column. Why has Apple not done this? Wait, don't answer that last part. We all know why.
