In this episode, we welcome Mr. Brian Kingston who presents the actions his industry believes are necessary to 'supercharge' sales and adoption of EVs in Canada.
Brian is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers’ Association (CVMA). The CVMA represents Canada’s leading manufacturers of light and heavy duty motor vehicles. Its membership includes Ford Motor Company of Canada Limited, General Motors of Canada and Stellantis.

Huh? The CVMA is advocating EV incentives to increases sales, but says mandates don't work because of supply constraints? MANDATES are the way to go. The problem is lack of inventory. If there were no mandates, we wouldn't have pollution controls, seatbelts, anti-lock brakes, etc...

We do not need anywhere near a 10 EV to 1 public EVSE to support full electrification. Most charging is and will continue to be done at home, so we will need much less than 1.6 million public chargers.

EV mandates like those in Quebec are critical to getting EVs for sale in Canada. Disagree that purchase incentives are more effective!

Purchase incentives aren’t a good use of money. I’m waiting 2 years to convert reservation to EV purchase. Non-Tesla DC charging is a primary issue. Homes and apartments should be prewired for charging.
