I really like it. And I’d say it’s better than MESX1. I like the more realistic but not to realistic feel. I honestly don’t have the time or patience for MX Sim between learning it then installing all the mods and what not to make it look decent. This lets me come home from work, plop down, throw down some heaters with the boys, and move on. Easy to learn, hard to master. Agree 100% on the casing triples and tough blocks too

Spot on donut! My biggest issue is the understeer. In MESX1 you could turn the bike on a dime when needed. MESX2 is like turning a battleship. Awkward. Fix Milestone! I need to get my flow on with this game.
@damon9915 жыл бұрын
Agree with everything you said. Although I don't understand why people hate the whips so much. I mean ya when you watch them back (especially from the front) they don't look great. But IMO they FEEL great. You can whip as much or as little as you please and they come back when you tell them to. MESX1 whips were the same exact over exaggerated pancake scrub every time, they would come back around halfway thru the jump and you would be stuck in the straight air animation. I guess I just dont get why people liked them so much

i hate this new turning mechanic, sometimes i got to stop the bike to be able to make a very inside line, i can't square up the corners anymore like you will do in real life....one thing i really like of Supercross 1 was those fast turns, now when i try to make a fast turn i usually go straight to the tuff blocks and crash...its ridiculous how your rider never makes the turn sometimes...

Cole Zitterkopf lol. there’s plenty of times you shouldn’t need to use your back brake to corner. everyone knows about villopotoing around a corner bro, but you shouldn’t have to do that to corner. if i’m singling into a corner why would i use my back brake when i want to accelerate
@WinterGameplays5 жыл бұрын
@@colezitterkopf1895 i use both of them, but only 1 of 10 times the rider do square the corner, and thats not realistic man, look in real life, its really easy to square up a corner, they do all the time

I disagree with you on the tough blocks. If another rider hits one onto the track it doesn't disappear immediately, it takes probably an entire second for them to disappear or for you to be able to ride through it. Also if you go off the track it won't ever give me 3 sec to return to track, it will immediately reset me and that's very annoying. All in all though I really like the game
@CaseyHardman5 жыл бұрын
I agree with everyone. The understeering is pretty bad, BUT it does make it feel more satisfying when you get it just right. The whips are meh. I’ve given up hope on that changing from Milestone. lol Casing isn’t as bad as MXGP Pro, but like you said, it could be a bit more forgiving and still be realistic.

This was actually such a good review though. Tons of in-depth commentary on the physics and explaining why certain elements (like riding the berm) are kind of janky. I hate how if you under steer it just shoots you off the track when you give it throttle, or if you try to correct it by just letting off, it goes too far the other way and it takes forever to get straight again. But maybe that's just me not playing well. And trying to flat track a corner is shitty because you give it a little throttle and you just spin out. And the AI in the game are literally on rails in the corners which is kind of annoying. Anyways, that's just my open onion.
@ryanholt16805 жыл бұрын

I just realized when I wrote this comment, I was actually talking about over steer. But either way, the comment makes sense, and they're both annoying to deal with.

I know i'm mega late to this party but, here's my thoughts. MESX1 was much more arcade. Not a full blown arcade game, but it was halfway between arcade and sim. MESX2, i think is 3/4 of the way between arcade and sim. Not fully a sim, but more so than the first game. Whereas with the first game, it was just 100% fun to play and i didn't get aggravated too much (except for the tough blocks), with this game it's much more aggravating. But in a good way. When i run four laps on a track for the first time and i start nailing rhythm sections, i feel like it's much more personally rewarding to do so than in the first game, because you can't bullshit your way through the lap. You have to be paying attention the entire time. You have to turn correctly, you have to jump the sections correctly. It's much more rewarding to master tracks than in the first game. And i think that realistic touch makes this game just a hair better than the first one. Also, the sand and stuff in track editor is bae.

Also, I have crashed so many times hitting a tough block, which is understandable when I'm going superfast. But when I'm coming out of a corner at like 15ish mph and hit a tough block, it literally just drops me and the block doesnt even move lol.
@1Z0Z55 жыл бұрын
I’ve noticed the flow system ruining my line on the faces of some jumps. On certain parts of the face I’ll loose some momentum and case but if I move over a little I’ll be fine. Some of the jump faces are just impossible to hit and keep all your momentum.
@mskarvcs15715 жыл бұрын
Personally, I liked the first game better. Because if you wanted a realistic game, just get mx sim. And personally I like the faster pace of the first game. They actually shit the bed with the whips in this game and I’m not sure if this is just because I played it on PS4, but the controls seemed very delayed.

I don’t know if anyone else has had their rider look like a drunk sloth riding a 450 or if it’s just me. For some reason it throws me off mentally. Almost like Driving behind someone with a jacked up frame wondering how the hell its still on the road. It's weird but I started playing this game again and it feels worse. I loose momentum which leads to casing (like Mx vs ATV Alive), the bike won't turn, and the rider just wants to spazz-out and fall. It's amazing how you can have speed in this video. It doesn't seem possible anymore.

It’d be dope if half of the hard cases just stopped your momentum instead of throwing your spine through your b hole. The biggest problem with the turning is the inconsistency; on the same track, same turn some laps you can rail through while others you end up having to drag dick and hold a full lean, and you’ll still end up sending it straight into the tough blocks. There’s no predictability and that takes me out of the game

Whoever makes this game, really doesn't want to take chances or try something new. Hell, if they really want a Monster Supercross 3 to sell a lot, what they could add, has already been done in past successful games. For example, Tony Hawk Underground. The game had a story mode, which not only had cool cutscenes, but had a well written story that actually made you care & even encouraged you to beat the game. Hell, that free roam mode in Supercross that you could ride your motorbike all around, could be a hub world for story mode. A place with other bikers riding around & people watching or chilling. An immersive hub world. With not just the main story, but do side missions by talking to someone. Story mode could also take place on a different track each time. Now Tony Hawk Underground didn't have free roam, but each level was basically like what I'm describing. Something as simple as that, could make this game so much better. Along with secret character riders to unlock & play as. Like how Tony Hawk did with having secret skater characters like aliens, zombies, bigfoot or how the games had freaking Shrek, Darth Maul or Wolverine.

MESX games completely stump me. They're all hilariously arcadey, the bikes never go anywhere near that fast or jump that far in real life, the cornering speeds and sharpness are hilarious, momentum is almost non-existent, yet somehow people enjoy them, notorious whineboy Turley included. This is just so confusing to me. There isn't a shred of realism or real-life feel to any of the 3 MESX games, yet they're somehow popular and liked
