You are spot on when you mention adding just a bit of the sound. I here here so many guitarists adding so much of the sound effect that it ends up just sounding like a bunch of noise to me.

Exactly. The human ear can detect these phasing changes really easily so no need to lay it on thick unless you are going for a really wild artistic choice.

Any chance of a demo, or just an opinion, on the pedal in its parallel mode? I'm very curious on the parallel mode, as it can do dry on one side, and the modulated effect on the other. It's one of few pedals that internally can create a parallel chain that blend octaver with a dry signal. For hard rock that is pretty wild to do, but either requires very expensive octave pedals, or several pieces of extra gear able to run a parallel chain. Maybe there are other combinations of an effect combined with a dry signal that makes it sound better. I'm really stoked that the Nux Atlantic has a parallel mode as well, with its reverb and delay parallel to each other, giving a really clean effect

I hate chorus generally. BUT!….The Boss CE - 2 can do this thing, at just the right setting, depending on how loud and how overdriven the sound is, make single note lead tones have a subtle wah effect when using vibrato. I love it just for that. Cool video. Nice playing.

You can get some nice sounding synth-like tones, but I think the trick is to keep your guitar signal up and the effect down. Also if you run it into delay/echo/reverb it adds a lot. The tap tempo is great too - I prefer to run this pedal with the two effects in parallel - you can set on fast tempo and one slower and then use the controls to how much of each effect comes through your signal. It has to be acknowledged that there is a latency issue - but there are workarounds - like running a drum machine through it, or something in the background to keep the pedal from 'dropping out' when you stop playing.

I'm a new subscriber - love your stuff!! Perhaps I have not seen yet where you explain your signal chain in more detail so forgive this new guy question.... you have the York Audio IR loaded in your DAW? What loader do you use? And the big question: why do it that way instead of just loading the IR in the Iridium. Is there a tone difference between having the IR in the Iridium or the IR in your DAW? Thank you for your great and informative videos!!
@SuperdangerStudios
@SuperdangerStudios 11 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for watching. Here is a video I did covering the IR loader in my DAW. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rp2uZYujgsqdi6csi=1S3mnDoxFdLJD4qs I use bias fx2 from positive grid. There are lots of others that do it just as well. Wall of sound by two notes works great too. When playing live and need to go direct I use the IR in the Iridium but when recording at home I prefer to have the option to change the IR. The other sonic reason is because I like all the reverb and tremolo to come after the amp signal like it would in an fx loop. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions
@aeroprof
@aeroprof 11 ай бұрын
Thank you! The video you suggested is what I needed! I'm a little embarrassed I didn't think about modelling the amp signal as you would with an effects loop and have the cab IR be at the end....that's genius!!@@SuperdangerStudios

If you are playing a clean amp you can have it in front of amp but after drive section, but if you are using amp gain this can sit in the fx loop. If you wanna get crazy you can throw this in front of an overdriven amp too and get some crazy sounds too.

Thank you for the very thorough demonstration. I've been looking into getting one of this, but I've seen videos in which from a clean or with a little over drive, after activating this pedal the volume drops quite noticeably. Did you experience anything like this? Would there be any way of preventing it other than with a boost pedal?
@SuperdangerStudios
@SuperdangerStudios 7 ай бұрын
This is due to the type of effect you have on. If it’s a chorus or any modulation you can expect some eq changes depending on where in the LFO you are. I haven’t noticed it in a significant manner though. If you find a sound you like you can mitigate that change with dialing in the right amount. Anytime you add modulation it can get tricky though!

@@SuperdangerStudios Cool! I have a pet interest in soundscape / directional stuff, especially since I visited EnvelopSF for listenings on their 42-speaker spherical surround sound setup but also I yearn for the days of artists recording great albums for Dolby 5.0 surround systems which was a pain, but now computers make this totally possible again so why aren't we all doing that - Envelop has released their mixing software and so much is possible.

@luckyhouston1054

Gotta disagree on the usefulness for beginners. The sounds you demonstrate border on unusable for a novice player. They are impressive due more to your technique than their inherent sounds. It is a great pedal but way too many parameters for a novice. Way too much potential for shoe-gazing w instead of practicing your instrument. A newbie needs a simpler pedal to learn the ins and outs of typical controls. That said, the rotary setting is pretty weak--given the price that shouldn't be surprising, but someone looking for a Leslie sound would still be looking around. A real multi-use pedal that models specific pedals would be much more helpful to a pedal beginner. An expression pedal out would also extend this things usefulness. Your video, production and playing are stellar. You could sell bass strings to a keyboard player.

This pedal is great but if you dime it out everyone of the modulations sound like shit. If you are considering it don't get stupid. I've seen bad reviews from people cranking it up . I wrote down the settings I like for each modulation. Some don't sound good at all others have a very small window in which they are usable
@SuperdangerStudios
@SuperdangerStudios 3 ай бұрын
Agreed. Can’t put a lot of modulation on anything. The human ear picks up on this stuff really easily. A little goes a LONG way. Cheers!
@borisbg
@borisbg 11 ай бұрын
I have this pedal. And, frankly, it doesn’t give as much effect as in your review. Yes, it's modulation, but yours is juicy, as if these combinations came from their own pedals. The flanger sounds noticeably poorer than Boss BF. It would be more honest to review this multi-effect without drive and other third-party effects. So I think Vision is for those who is not a modulation guy. This is for those who want introduce him self in modulation or use it to add color to their sound.
