So helpful! I've been struggling with back pain since a car accident 4 years ago, and after seeing chiro's and my current massage therapist, have still been left in the dark about what exact muscles are aching in my back. This was extremely clear and helps me understand my body better. Thanks! :)

You said that one of the difference is that the superficial muscles are innervated by ventral rami while rhomboids and levator scap are innervated by dorsal rami. In other words innervation is not one of their differences

I made the video a while ago and I am unable to watch it at this moment … rhomboids and lev scap are NOT innervated by dorsal rami … they are innervated by ventral rami via the dorsal scapular nerve.
