If Zagreus successfully escapes and gets to Greece, You have until you talk to Persephone to mess with any interactable things, i.e. Narrator points, fishing spots, etc. Once you talk to Persephone, you'll eventually die and it'll say "Taken By The Styx", and Hypnos will be surprised that he was killed by "Natural Causes".

i really love this fight. Hades uses all the same tools as you, he has varatha spin, can cast with skulls that inflict you with your own boiling blood debuff, and has death defiance. The only things he has that you dont are the lasers, invisibility, and minions.

In one of my most recent runs I got a boon from Demeter that turned my cast into a turret that fired a continuous laser. So... Zag has lasers, and the Call of Hades is actually invisibility. Just need minions now

Yeah it's such a fair but tough fight! Most of his powers you've actually already encountered with previous smaller enemies or bosses. Where many games give the boss completely new mechanics or quicktime events, Hades is just an elevated version of all the mechanics you've learnt so far. I think the boiling blood debuff and generating new trap pots might be the only things he does that an earlier enemy hasn't done in some form.

God, this fight is so perfect. The satisfaction of overcoming Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium and the Temple of Styx. The slow walk on the snowy peak, and the brief lines exchanged between Zagreus and his father. The somber theme playing as Hades turns, shrugs off his cape to burn to cinders, and summons his spear. And then that hard, overdriven guitar as the battle starts. FUCK it's so good. Darren Korb, you may as well be a god of music yourself.

On my third attempt I finally “beat” him and was so overjoyed. 11 health, no revives and I had actually broken a sweat because of how intense it was. Then I see him stand back up and just shit myself. Luckily, 6th times a charm and I truly beat him.

There's this anecdote George Foreman told about the first time he fought Muhammad Ali. He UNLOADED into him, and this was Foreman when he was young and fast, so this would've obliterated any of his normal opponents. But Ali hung out on the ropes and just soaked it for whole rounds at a time. So finally, when Foreman finally got tired, Ali popped back up off the ropes at full strength and asked "Is that all you got, George?" And Foreman remembers thinking, too tired to speak, let alone guard "yup, Ali, that's all I got" Every time I get to the end of this game, the fight against Hades makes me remember that story.

I like how it's almost POETIC that while we get Death Defiance for being his son, Hades also has Death Defiance when we finally meet him. Sure, I did get angry as the bastard got up a second time with better moves, but it felt completely justified and I admit I died smiling. It felt fair, believe it or not. P.S.: In Greek Mythos though, Zagreus is a complete unknown. In some readings he's the son of Zeus, in others he's an Avatar of Dionysus, in some he's a God himself, in some he's a part of Gaia and thus a greater God than even Zeus or Hades, in others (the one the game goes with), he's the son of Hades (or Hades himself)...

I never get tired of throwing down with the old man. Hades will probably go down as one of the all time greatest final bosses of all time. I hate that I like his 3 hit combo as much as I do. The best part of the fight is the last 50% of the second health bar, when he almost looks like Zagreus as he fights, dashing around in almost the same way. Thats when the blood really starts pumping
