The way Tyler runs before taking off looks like a homage to George Reeves superman who always runs before taking off. His Clark Kent is more like the bumbling, stammering Christopher Reeve Kent. The way he holds and tilts the plane's control surface reminds me of Brandon Routh's supes saving Lois' plane in Superman Returns. His suit S emblem is very similar to Dean Cain's S emblem. And finally the no red underpants references Cavill's no red briefs suit.

This show was awesome in first season. I hope they are still that good on Season 2, because now they are moving on of network, from CBS to CW. Of course we can't compare it to the movies, look at the budget in itself, but this is a good TV show. For its porpuse, entertaining teenagers, it's very well done.

Dave Dranow Oh yeah, I was fanboying during it, and I'm not even a fan of the show (I watched for Manhunter). But the above commenter's statement that 'there was nothing to hold onto' is sort of ridiculous. This thing is like a butterfly to a 747 compared to that thing she lifted last season. No way they compare, lol, handholds or not. But yeah, seeing them together is still nice. But the inconsistency is getting a bit much to take. They need to choose a power level for her and stay at it. She was all over the place last season and if this clip is any indication it isn't starting off well.

Supergirl went too far left and Cinematic Superman went too far right. They tried to make this show too much like the 1950-1970's versions in characterization where as you know it was a simpler time more cheesy not taken seriously. Cavill Superman while darker is not as dark many people make him out to be but is still not how Superman is usually or should be portrayed. If Batman is the logical one and Wonder Woman represents compassion then Superman represents compromise/empathy. Basically Superman for all his powers is emotionally the most human out of all of them.

Yes. That is basically the difference. For the TV show they wanted it to be more like a comic book. For the movies they wanted it to be more like an action movie, Transformers, Pacific Rim, Independence Day - your basic destruction porn. Nerds like destruction porn so that's why they like Snyder's Superman. While parents like to have a show their kids can watch and not destroy the house afterwards.

@Makaruna Skywalker it's physics my friend. Even though he's strong and she is too, it's the speed of the thing propelling towards the ground due to gravity. The strength might be there, but they have tidal forces working against them.

Juan Vasquez in the CW shows, some of these rules still apply, even in the flash. When you throw around terms like dark matter, dark energy, black holes, you are applying SOME real world things in the mix, not all but some, and it makes sense that they apply certain realistic elements. So yes.

I love you so much Supergirl, I really love you but why is your writing still so cringe worthy. I really thought that it would improved after season one but the bad dialogue and the awkward acting is still there. A huge plus is that the CGI looks really good still, it looks like CW is spending the money to make the show look good.
