supergirl referencing other forms of media [part 1]

I wish that we got to see a flashback of young Kara watching "The Wizard of Oz" for the first time when Eliza introduced it to her. With listening to the song "Over the Rainbow", I'm sure the moment really gave her such a new unique feeling since she never experienced musicals before. With Dorothy crying that Auntie Em might be dying since Professor Marvel said she appeared to have a broken heart, that would make Kara miss her mother Alura and with that, she would start crying herself. Then Eliza would hold Kara, letting her know everything is going to be okay. With the Lion getting his courage, I'm sure Kara will think how she needs to be brave while being in this new world. When Tinman says that his heart is breaking as he cries about Dorothy leaving and her hoping he doesn't rust again, I'm sure that Kara would be tearing up again. And with the ending of Dorothy learning her lesson and saying "There's no place like home", I'm sure Eliza would then see how Kara has tears in her eyes. Eliza would be worried that Kara is upset again, but Kara assures Eliza that they are tears of joy because she really enjoyed the movie. Kara would not only hug Eliza, but also Alex and Jeremiah, glad that she has a family that she knows she can call home. They really should've showed this. It would've made things even more emotional. It would've been really beautiful. In addition, since Kara landed on Earth in 2003 and since the musical Wicked came out the same year, I’m sure that would’ve been such a great show for her to see. She definitely would’ve cried during the song “For Good”. And when the curtain call happened, I can see Kara jumping out of her seat clapping her hands with a big smile on her face with tears of joy dripping down her cheeks. And perhaps, if it were possible, if Kara's school decided to do "The Wizard of Oz" for a school play, I'm sure she would be cast as Dorothy. During her audition, she would cry as she sings "Over the Rainbow" and that would be enough to cast her for the part.

This is literally so sweet! They definitely should’ve at least made an effort to incorporate The Wizard of Oz in the flashback episodes. I will now be imagining that this is real lol :)

I've been seeing videos of people editing a remix of "Over the Rainbow" with clips of the show playing and I was just thinking how come we've never actually seen young Kara watch the movie. I guess it would work if we had a show centered more around her fitting to Earth life and Kara trying to master her powers, like with the show Smallville. If they did do that instead, we definitely would've seen Kara getting to pet Streaky the cat.

More in songs: Alex sings Cyndi Lauper's version of I Drove All Night. J'onn sang So Emotional by Whitney Houston, M'Rynn sang Suspicious Minds by Elvis, Mon sang - Carry On Wayward Son by Kansas, Winn & his mom sang Take On Me by Aha. @@charlottegilmore5220 I love that Laura Vandervoort is again Kara Zor-el and accurate. Laura has the second degree black belt in karate so she can move. You see it in the show Bitten, in the movie Out of control, in the show Supergirl. I have nothings agains Melissa. In Glee she was brilliant but Supergirl is a mumber way to high for her. In my wiev Laura is much better and she should Kara Zor-el in the show Supergirl from the pilot and forward. And Laura look identical to the comics. So perfect.
