Supergirl Sinks To a New Low!

Maybe the General gets better in future episodes, but DEAR GOD, he was intolerable in this one. I'm sure a competent writer can do a better job with him when he returns in the future; unfortunately, I have to wonder if the Supergirl writing staff actually has any of those. If he gets fleshed out or humanized later on, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, but he was SO bad here, I was left with no desire to ever see him come back.

I've always liked the idea that Kryptonians can choose to be pierced, but it has to be an 'active' thing. Passively, they are practically impenetrable. Sometimes Clark was described as having a mental 'shield' that surrounds him and whatever he's wearing/holding. Oh, and the writers probably forgot about how it worked - like the wrong arm being ripped off compared to the arm in the base.

Just think it would be amazing if someone took a really good photo of her in costume with the earrings showing really clearly, just for some rando in the city to see Kara walking around and then practically blasting her in the face in PUBLIC, destroying her secret identity immediately. But it would probably have to be a guy attacking her, and guys are absolutely idiots in this universe unless they're on Kara's side. The idea of using Kryptonite to pierce her ear won't work with the idea that she's never seen Kryptonite before, but the writers have dropped the ball on so many other occasions it might as well have happened. She was with a foster family that knew about Clark, so if Clark has any piercings... Oh, wait, that's a scary thought - Clark with a Prince Albert... An obvious thing you missed. Kara stopped the two speeding cars instantly. 60 mph to zero in a hundredth of a second. At least one guy did not have his seat belt on and I'm pretty sure the other didn't either (you know, men). A sudden stop and neither man was hurled through the windshield to strike into the group of children (probably fatally).Takes me back to the days when Captain Planet saved a village by turning a wall of water from a collapsed dam into steam. Never mind that when water flashes to steam it expands by 1700 times and in that case would probably be a hydrogen explosion to rival the Hiroshima atomic bomb. Now a hydrogen explosion is nothing nuclear so there is no radiation. Just death dealing steam and explosive power. Sorry, but I like my super heroes to follow the laws of physics.

Those kids and teachers failed "crossing the road 101", nobody bothered to look both ways. Which you do even if you have the right away. Not to mention not hearing 2 speeding cars that were crashing into each other the entire way down the street. They didn't even look until Superwoman brought them both to a dead stop. Which btw would have killed both drivers instantly even if they were wearing seat belts because their brains would have slammed into the inside of their skulls coming to such an instant stop. And both cars would have been totaled rather than just having a couple of dents. The reason smallville was successful was that it was well written and had a decent storyline and while corny they did a good job of telling the Superman story within the confines of his hometown. Their was no agenda and people were compelled by the story not like this CW garbage where everyone is gay, bi sexual or a man hater and even if a character is gay why do they constantly need to talk about it or show it. You don’t see straight people running around proclaiming their love of the opposite sex to any and all that they come across. Imagine the comic or cartoon Superman in this situation. After stopping the two cars, the guy would probably not try to hit him, but if he would, superman would take the hit completely unfazed, and the guy would know instantly not to mess with him. I have no idea why the writers think it's a good idea to use a show to attack men, it's ridiculous, people want to watch this show for entertainment purposes but quit half way through the season because of the shitty writing and because of the directors trying to put politics into the show, the portrayal of men throughout the show is ridiculous, supergirl doesn't fall in love with any guy she goes out with, the portrayal of mon el and superman is way off and here's why, mon el in the comics is stated several time to be stronger than superman and supergirl, when he first landed on earth he knocked superman out with a single punch and when he was poisoned with led he took out the combined efforts of supergirl and the legion whereas in the show his a whimp who can't even fly and has half the amount of powers he has in the comics. On superman's part they made him look weak also, from season 1 they've been hinting that supergirl is more powerful then Clark which is bs, in the comics supergirl was stated that she "might" be stronger than Clark but this theory was proven wrong when superman took out and enraged supergirl on planet apocolypse, not only that supergirl doesn't even have a partner in the show, in the arrow show Oliver is married to felicity whereas in the comics his married to black canary so why the hell can't they do the same for supergirl instead of making her break several men's hearts, not only that, the politics they try to implement into the show just makes it even worse, God they're even pushing the lgbtq issues in the show way too far, very soon the whole show will be filled with lgbtq members, I don't have anything against the lgbtq community but having a show that pushing this issue way too far is annoying, God they're already making a bat woman show which revolves around a lesbian hero so there's no need to push lgbtq in a straight show. I did, but because it did have some self aware good moments, and I have a large tolerance for bs. There was a moment in season 1 (I think?) where it was a crossover with the Flash and her group walks into the office of her boss with him, and the boss goes "You look like a diverse, yet nonthreatening cast of a CW show." or something along those lines. It still has me chuckling when I think about it. The 'story' that lost me though was when her sister finally comes to terms with being gay and regresses to a preteen. All her professionalism (what little they wrote in) from being a highly trained special agent all goes out the window.

And Catwoman never killed Bane in the comic books. So how is killing off Dr. Morrow on Supergirl any different than that?

That's why Cat Grant only made a few guest shots. And I guess the producers didn't think it was worth the money to fly them to Vancouver when they could just create new characters and hire Canadians. Plus Italia Ricci was on "Designated Survivor" so she wasn't available. They did mention Maxwell Lord in the episode where Morgan Edge got his car blown up, that the same thing happened to Maxwell Lord. And J'onn J'onzz did threaten to have General Lane's stars taken away from him for hiding alien technology from the DEO.

ThaSlymes in this show she was like 12 or 13 when krypton died and her escape pod accidentally got blasted into the phantom zone, where there is no time. so, even though she was in there until Superman became an adult, she didn’t age at all. it makes sense for her to have had her ears pierced there or something, although i honestly couldnt tell you for sure.
