Epilogue idea: "While he was a more solitary monster, Varan was drawn into action by the crystals and alien invasion. When the crystals first struck, he received a boost to his sonar, allowing him to weaponize his sonic-waves. But he would not be corrupted by the crystals. He destroyed them with his comrades. But when it was over he went back into isolation, or so he hoped. The village people who once worshiped him found him on Monster Island. Varan was impressed, if perplexed, that these people would make such a dangerous journey. They offered him sacrifices of crops and livestock. The elusive kaiju took to the people. He protected them from other monsters and GDF forces trying to remove them from the island. As long as they fed the beast, he could stand more company."

Normally, Varan was a shy and elusive little Kaiju who wanted nothing to do with humanity or any other Kaiju living on Earth. But after stopping SpaceGodzilla’s attempt to destroy Earth, Varan had started to notice a strength that he’d never seen in himself before. Varan has taken down many dangerous foes all on his own such as the likes of Destoroyah, Megaguirus, Krystalak, freed many of his other Kaiju from the crystal radiation, thwarted the Vortaak invasion, and stopped both a Critical Massed King Ghidorah and SpaceGodzilla with the aid of Godzilla and Rodan After the battle, Varan began to fly over the various cities and overlooked the humans as they celebrated their victory against the crystal threat. While watching, Varan was discovered by the humans and rather than run away, he stayed and listened to the praise given to him by humanity, sensing the love and trust they had bestowed on him. With this kind gesture, Varan now feels pride to be an Earth Defender, and with the love he has for humanity, he will no longer hide from humans or other Kaiju, and will forever more defend humanity from any threat, no matter the cost.

This game made me love varan , he was so versatile and great move set to chain combo attacks. Imagine a modern incarnation

Before the Crystal Incursion, very few people had ever heard of Varan, and even less had actually seen him. So when the reclusive monitor lizard kaiju emerged from his icy lake to defend the world from the crystals, everybody was worried about his intentions. However, by the time he managed to destroy the Crystals and defeat Spacegodzilla, he was a household name as big as Godzilla or Ghidorah.

Varan needs to come back in another godzilla movie or his own movie. He has only appeared in "Varan" and "Destroy all monsters" and in destroy all monsters he only had 5 seconds of screen time. And he was ment to be in the amazing movie GMK but he got replaced. This guy needs to come back

One of the more obscure monsters from the Showa era, Varan first came to screens in 1958 via his own film Varan the Unbelievable, worshipped by an island people. He then cameoed in the Godzilla movie Destroy All Monsters as one of the residents of Monster Island. Unleashed is one Varan's very few other appearances in media, he's shown up little place else, but a monster of small-stature with the ability to glide is pretty cool to me. He's an underrated underdog of the Earth Defender faction and should be proud of that status.

I remember unlocking Varan, he was annoying as hell to unlock. Basically, you had to play on the mothership level as one of the aliens and destroy three purple structures on the mothership walls, but the camera angle always made it annoying.

Another aftermath idea (not stealing from Archer-Bro) Varan: Varan was a very rare resident to see on Monster Island, so he hardly left his cave, he hiding in the shadows with his mate, Baragon. After the crystal shower on the island, Godzilla requested that his brothers would join him to destroy the source of it. A few monsters stayed on the island including Varan’s friend, Baragon. As sad as it was, Varan had too leave his friend behind. After the immense showdown in New York and Varan having the power of the crystals at hand, he decided to use it for the good of others, Naturally, he used it to heal the now injured Baragon who was once corrupted by the crystals them-self. After using the power up, he and his friend would thank Godzilla and return home.

He's good. His playstyle isn't really my thing, but he's certainly very fast. Lots of close-range moves that require some precision, though he has two or three that can be spammed at the end of combos for some quick knockdowns.
