That is a great design. The only thing I would do is add some kind of pointed front to the pontoons to make them glide through the water more easily. That would save power and increase speed. Thanks for sharing your builds.

I love these designs and want to build one for myself. I just have one question, what is the max passenger weight limit on it? I am a big guy 6'2" close to 350lbs.
@supergokue1
@supergokue1 3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure of the max, but in the video it had about 260lbs. or so on it. I could drop off about 40lbs. by switching to Lithium ion batteries. I will do some tests to see how much this model will hold, thank you for the question.

Very kool ... i could see myself making one of these , though i would have a hard time not adding to it or making it bigger.... like adding another set of folding pontoons to the ones you have already = making have 4 pontoons total... or making have two rows of coolers and building the seat in between them ??? Sooo many ways you could build one !!!!! Always wanted to build one of them Picnic table / 50 gallon drum boats ...

Love it! The only thing I can think to add would be some foot pedals with some pulleys and cables to create a steering mechanism. I like your first design as well, specially cause of the platform which would be nice for standing and stretching your legs.

Good stuff. Do you think it's bouyant enough that you could fill those coolers with beer/food and take some camping gear for an overnighter? Looks a bit low at the back.

I believe so, I did have the front cooler full of ice and drinks. I will probably load it up when I go fishing, just to how well it handles the extra weight. Thank you for the great questions.

Great design again👍👍 Is that the foam u use to make the float cone? N what the name is the blue colour spray u use??
@supergokue1
@supergokue1 3 жыл бұрын
The foam is called XPS foam, I bought it at Lowe's home improvement. It is mainly used for insulation in construction. The blue spray is just a can of deep blue spray paint. Thanks for the great questions

Nice work. It seems to be fairly stable but how does in react when you make a cast? I absolutely love the wheels, beats the hell out of having to carry it. On that note what would the weight be without the solar stuff?

After attaching the coolers to the frame, what did you use to plug the holes?
@supergokue1
@supergokue1 3 жыл бұрын
I used a hole saw and cut out big circles from PVC pipe. Then I put a screw through the center with a small piece of plastic on the back to tighten it up. It did a great job of hiding the holes. Thank you for the great question.

I have a question, wouldn't it be better to use 8" tube (200mm+-) 8" diameter X 10" length X tubes should hold 300Kg., maybe the styrofoam would be better, I don't know, I think maybe more beautiful in terms of aesthetics ( design) and dynamics in the water, I think, hug from Portugal.
@supergokue1
@supergokue1 3 жыл бұрын
To be honest it might work a lot better to use 8'' pipe, but my main goal with these little boats is to fit into the back of my small truck. For me, my boats need to stay around the 6' long and no wider than 4' wide. I would be real curious to see what the weight difference would be between the PVC and the XPS foam. It might be something I consider in the future, if it's not too heavy. I do really appreciate the questions and your suggestion. Thank you :)

I think wheels in the front and back would make it easier to roll around and it could be left down. I don't think there would be too much drag, since the wheel spins and floats.

I tried to use spray foam just on the ends, before sticking the caps on. But after the foam dried, I could not get the caps to go on. There was no where for the air to escape. It was too good of a seal I guess. So I cut the foam out, then the caps went right on. I have thought about sticking empty sealed water bottles or even pool noodles in there just incase water finds a way in. Thank you for the great question
