whenever I get a notification of a new Superhero Rewind, my day starts to get better

I love how Peter starts playing the mixtape when he first arrives to get the Power Stone. It’s his way of sharing that moment with his mother. Great stuff.
@JoanieDoeShadow6 жыл бұрын
You got me tearing up just talking about your mom & mix tape, that is so sweet and awesome you found your tape before this movie came out.
@MarkyMatey6 жыл бұрын
Guardians 1 and 2 are some of the best comic book movies period.

That story about your mum and the mixtape made me cry. Which is weird, since I don't normally cry until the end of a superhero rewind lol

Careful, Cap! At the rate you're going, you'll be all caught up and have Infinity War in the can by Christmas!

Wow, you always manage to make me appreciate these movies more. I’ve always liked this one but I’ve gotta reassess some parts of it after this video.

My wife has seen two MCU movies. GotG and GotG2. She also has a Groot keychain, Groot pajama pants, and a plush Groot doll.

I can't wait for you to do the second one. I think that has the best use of a song out of both these movies.
@frostbite2056 жыл бұрын
The Chain or Brandy?
@TheDayGhost6 жыл бұрын
Joel Sunnex Brandy. The Chain is great though too. I also think My Sweet Lord is a really tragic song on his playlist. Mainly the line, "My sweet lord, I really want to know you." Seeing as Peter's Mom called him Star Lord and she was dying in the hospital and wasn't able to be with him.

For the people wondering how deep the Infinity War spoilers are, I have not seen the movie yet and listened to this review without any problem. The only thing mentioned here is that some character dynamics will be further explored in that movie, for example Gamora and Thanos, which is pretty predictable and obvious and in the trailers so yeah. I would consider it Infinity War spoiler-free.

I have that same relationship with my mom. Never got a mix tape, but our best moments were listening to music she loves together.

@jman28566 жыл бұрын
I’m still loving this new format. Also Cap, if you’re juicy for something akin to Guardians with the same kind fun comedy and well put together story, I highly reccomend Telltale’s Tales from the Borderlands.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the reason why Thanos became the overarching villain of the MCU. In 2009 Nicole Perlman pitched an idea of what to do after Avengers and she wrote a story about the GotG with Thanos as the main villain in GotG. While this idea wasn’t used, it led to Joss Whedon to feature Thanos in a post credits scene in Avengers.

I kinda miss the old structure of Superhero Rewind with the images, but your Reviews are still spot on!
@MauricioVasquezSpirits6 жыл бұрын
I'm surprised that the films, or this review for that matter, never drew much comparisons between Rocket and Nebula. Both come from a past of being tortured and artificially enhanced for someone else's benefits and now are only out to look for themselves. It's interesting how Rocket was able to find redemption within the Guardian family, despite not being very emotionally tied to anyone besides Groot, yet Nebula has yet to fully redeem herself (Even in Infinity War), despite already having a connection with Gamora. She at the very least has yet to drop the desire of killing Thanos and maybe becoming a Guardian herself. Rocket was redeemable because he had Groot's soft nature to tie him down, yet Nebula refuses to change despite how much Gamora tries to reach out to her. I legitimately wonder if Nebula will find her own Groot to help her find her humanity again. If they don't have something like that in the next Avengers movie (God forbid she dies), I would love to see her team up with Rocket in Guardians 3. We don't see them interact much, and that could potentially lead to a lot of fun comedy but also a lot of in debt character study. How interesting would it be if Rocket became Nebula's Groot? Except instead of being soft like Groot, Rocket uses tough love to straighten her out.

This is a video I've been waiting at least 2 years for and it didn't disappoint. I'm with ya on this one for the most part Cap. GOG really is something special, I didn't expect this to be the second MCU movie to get a perfect score though. Hilarious how two of you're observations were addressed in the HISHE video.

Yay!!! You finally get to review Guardians of the Galaxy!!! Glad you enjoyed this movie! Can't wait to see Deadpool!

Say what you will about the sequel. I actually liked it by the way. But the first movie is pure genius. Also the music makes the movie as well. Just like the theme of Halloween makes that movie. It's still my top five favorite marvel movies.

Well with ronin because he is an alien he does no know what a dance off is thus confusion, also groot is born of the great seed and prehaps where all his language is just too old or he is too alien for the transulater, third them hold hands spreads out power of the stone thus not outright killing him with multiple minds means more focus holding back potent power for destroying them meaning non titans can wield the power just not for alone.

Love the review, I felt you missed one thing about Peter's last gift from his mom. It could be suggested that Peter opening the gift is him finally coming to terms with his mother's death, gaining a new family in the Guardians in the process. Still love the review!!! 😀

I'm not really a superhero fan at all however this film is just so much fun and doesn't feel derivative or formulaic. I haven't watched the sequel yet because I'm worried about it turning generic again.
@iamsuperbatman19936 жыл бұрын
"Guardians of the Galaxy" was a film I didn't really like on first few viewings. However, as time goes on, it has really grown on me over the years once I've developed better critical thinking skills and understood certain motifs of the film (like the soundtrack), I've certainly developed a new found respect for the film as far as modern space operas go since I am not the biggest fan of the new Star Wars films. The only thing about this review that I don't quite agree with is that I think Cap gives a bit too much credit towards the Ronan character, he admits that he too is a bit let down by the portrayal of Ronan as a villain, but as someone who has watched the film a fair few times recently, I just don't quite see the manchild aspect to the character as he described in this review because I see more of an alien version of Hitler. But I digress.

Telling us that the civilization that inhabited the world where the Infinity Stone was initially located destroyed itself is a good idea *but* it is better to _not_ tell us why. What can you pick that isn't a current political football? Better to leave it ill-defined, so that the audience can fill-in-the-blank with whatever resonates with themselves. Kind of like how a person usually imagines a far more horrifying monster than the crew could ever produce in a horror movie.
@Geekvolution6 жыл бұрын
Otaku That's an excellent point. I more just wanted the explanation of what was happening with the ecosystem.
@KamisamanoOtaku6 жыл бұрын
Yup, *more* of an explanation would have been appreciated. Even having passing familiarity with Guardians of the Galaxy (or perhaps because of it) I remember wondering if this was supposed to be a alternate/future Earth. It was a very *brief* bit of confusion, but neither parallel realities nor time travel are strangers to Guardians of the Galaxy. Or, at least, certain incarnations according to a little research.
@TheDayGhost6 жыл бұрын
Otaku yeah the Abnet and Lanning run plays a lot with alternate futures. It's a really good read, I highly recommend it.

You know, you brinning up the universal translators kinda made me realize a plothole in Infinity War. How can the Earth's heroes understand guardians, when they don't have any translators?
@FairFuse6 жыл бұрын
I don't get how, if such things bother you, the fact that Thor speaks English doesn't. He is a Norse god, but even so, he is not even from Earth. Also, what a coincidence Thor looks precisely like humans do, even the same size and colors and everything. And what a coincidence most aliens in the Guardians film look exactly like humans but sometimes with a different color of skin and/or some slightly adjusted body parts. I mean I am not bothered by this, but I don't understand how one thing is considered a plot hole when there is an abundance of similar things. I't simply the limits of storytelling and film making.
@SpedeVesku6 жыл бұрын
FairFuse It doesn't "bother" me, just something that came to my mind. Besides, Thor and Asgardians are aliens too. Maybe they have translators too.
@FairFuse6 жыл бұрын
Why would it be no problem for the Avengers to understand Thor then when you claim it would be for the Guardians?
@SpedeVesku6 жыл бұрын
FairFuse Because Asgardians have visited Earth for centuries so they probably learned English and teach it (hey, if they teach Groot, why not English?)
