When I play this game with bilingual friends (English-Spanish) friends I would say "this is called a royal turkey" for peacock. For outhouse I'd say it's another word for a latrine. My friend Katy and I are both interpreters so it's super easy to use synonyms or words that are literal translations. Needless to say, we are normally not allowed to be on the same team. Reading of the charges = arraignment. Flower-sucker = humming bird. In fact, there are tons of words in English that are almost never used that are cognates with Spanish like somnambulist = sleepwalker, calumny = slander. Knowing Spanish really helps to understand or know high register words in English.

Tienes razón, aunque es muy coloquial decir _there’s_ en lugar de _there are_ sobre todo cuando en ese instante no se tiene una idea clara si la referencia será plural o singular. Ya en la práctica se sobrentiende y por eso no le dan importancia a la corrección.

La manera correcta es “there are” pero al usarla en “contraction” (cuando agregas las ‘) se permite “there’s” pero es una manera informal o coloquial de hablar. Una manera relajada pero aceptable.
