And I thought I had an onion obsession 😂. That’s an impressive amount of 🌶️ sown. When I got my seeds for the challenge, from Red Dragon, there was a mystery pack with 15-20 seeds. Of course you have no idea what’s in there, if I grow them, would you be able to tell from the mature plant what variety they were? In case I wanted to grow that variety again?
@Allotment-of-the-Dead11 күн бұрын
@@Petetrenouth I can have a good guess at most of them. I had a fantastic lemon drop and aji norteno from the variety pack last year.

@@Allotment-of-the-Dead Thanks Jason. Once the challenge seeds have germinated, I’ll get them sown, as I’ve only got the one small heat mat. 🌶️👍

I think you’ve got the chills sorted, although I wouldn’t fancy potting them all on. I’ve been trying to get a chocolate habanero to produce fruit for a few years. The first year I planted them far too late and they never got started. Last year I started early and managed to get one of my plants to start flowering but the early frost soon put an end to that. I had one plant that really didn’t do much but I’ve managed to keep it alive on my bedroom window and it’s still in full leaf. It’s only about 6” tall but steady growing so it should give me a head start this year. Where are you going to be planting all the peppers?
@Allotment-of-the-Dead11 күн бұрын
@adamdaykin4052 I have two polytunnels and another building I made myself so should be ok. The chinense varieties definitely need the long season.
@adamdaykin405211 күн бұрын
@ on my site we are only allowed one polytunnel per plot so I haven’t got quite as much cover as you. I watched the dragon breath chilli tasting video yesterday and it had me in stitches. I might order some seeds so I can grow a plant. The guys at work love a hot chilli so they will be ideal.
@Allotment-of-the-Dead11 күн бұрын
@adamdaykin4052 it's definitely great growing these hot ones for a bit of fun at work, just need to tell them "at your own risk" lol.

On the seeds that you collected yourself i think that on one of the packets you wrote F1. Shouldn't it be F2.
@Allotment-of-the-Dead11 күн бұрын
@@TheGDJames yep, they probably should. Although those ones do seem to grow quite true. Most chillies self pollinate unless the bees are around.

Why aren't you wearing gloves? I sowed chillies on the 1st (some coming up now) but my fingers for the next few days. Had to be careful what I touched! Lemon Starburst up already!
@Allotment-of-the-Dead11 күн бұрын
@ameliabeeley4005 These were all superhots, so my fingers tingled a little. You need the dexterity though, those seeds are small. Lots of hand washing and remembering not to pick my nose, not that I do. Lol
