Don't worry,you can get the antagonizer's costume back by pickpocketing the mechanist

i never knew i could do this, and i had to choose protectron's gaze all the time for a cool shotgun-ish later pistol thanks man ill use it in my 100% walkthrough

No problem at all, I hope that you managed to get the 100%. It's a great achievement to hit and it's certainly not easy to do. It's also nice to have both weapons, they are both great for both actual use or collector's.

Major help, most of the time I come across an npc I create a save before speaking to them and see if you have a video on any potential rewards from them, cheers for the content.

Hey Coloredturtles, it's more than a decade old now and yet has a following of which I am part of. I've been playing the game pretty religiously ever since it's been out and only recently decided to make my entire KZbin around Fallout. Thank you for checking out my video and for commenting. It's a cool little trick that you can use to get everything.

This is the right thing to do and it works. However all you to do once you have reverse pickpocketed him is leave the area via any of the two doors and instead of loading the autosave although you can if you want to, just re-enter the area via the door you just used and he should have already changed into the armour you had given him. Plus I'm pretty sure this would work on the antagonizer too. Hope this helps you guys out.

After I had published my video at the time, I thought about that step and could have worked it into my video but it was too late by then. Just did this exactly as you said, it worked (which for me is interesting because I've only played fallout 3 once and for some reason it was very brief along time ago, so it's still fresh and not plagued by any of the age based glitches (where the long you play the most crashes/random glitches happen that eventually ruin the game with a few yeeaaaars but a rare occurrence.) So that means it's just a feature. Thanks Todd Howard you always know something about game features, also great and simple to follow video as always

Hey Zoie, thanks so much for your comment and feedback on my video. This video was one of my more interesting videos at the time. There really is no glitch here as such but it was just exploiting the pickpocket mechanic to force them to change their gear. It's a cool mechanic and helps alot lol.

I subscribed because I love fallout! I accidentally stole my first copy of fallout 3 from Walmart in 2006 and have been hooked ever since.. Oh, did I mention that I freaking love fallout?!.......

Just the two times but that's golden. I actually purchased my first copy of a Fallout game by accident. Toke it home to realise its not what I wanted. Thought I might as well play it and ended playing about 18 hours in that one weekend. This was when Fallout 3 came out and I have been 'Trapped' ever since.

It's a shame you have to kill the two characters in order for this glitch to work. I don't kill unique NPCs unless it's necessary to finish a quest. Great video, Mo.

Sadly that's right. That said I am still hopeful that there is a way to do this without taking them out. I'm looking into it so hopefully one day I will find a solution and upload it. That said thanks so much for checking it out.

I was able to pick pocket the mechanist after he left his forge and get the costume without having to kill the mechanist.

I just did the quest normally by getting both of them to retire and give me their suits and then used the console to give myself the weapons. Didnt feel like doing the whole reverse pickpocket exploit for the same result lol.

That's just it, sadly not everyone can use or have access to console commands so this might be their only way or via mods.

This is a bad way to achieve both armor and weapons for ppl who doesn't like to steal. Much better when you first go to the antgonizer convince her to stop and she gives you her armor and helmet. If you want her knife just do one sneak attack before she leaves the cave. Now go to the mechanist and give him the armor and helmet and he will give you the protectons gaze after that sneak attack the mechanist and you can loot his corps for both armor. This way is better without stealing 4 times. They both will disappear anyway after the quest is done.

Thanks for your comment. I am sure I'm probably not reading this right but your saying stealing is the wrong way to go about this but your instead suggesting to sneak attack and take things from their corpse. Either way its a way of getting both armor sets and weapons so which ever works. It's not a thing but since you don't see them after then perhaps it does not matter as much. Personally I would have loved to see both NPC become companions after the quest.

Hey fyi you can just kill em when they are talking at canterbury. They give you both from the bodies. Uncle roe will have unique dialogue

Nope, not at all. Once you get their armor you don't really need to as you can use the reverse pickpocket again if you wish. I did to basically speed up the process a little as I like to make my videos as short and quick as possible.......when possible.

Hey Liam, thanks buddy for your comment. I would recommend around 50 skill points and maybe some perks to help too. Failing that you can also use Stealth Boys. I hope that this helps.

delivering the antagonizer costume to the mechanist did not work for me, because for some reason the game didn't recognize it in my inventory, so in a little fit of rage after reloading a few times, I blew his head off with a combat shotgun, and believe it or not he had the protectrons gaze in his inventory, so i went home with both unique weapons, both unique costumes and 600 caps richer, who says violence doesn't solve problems is wrong.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Without swapping his armor I don't think you can pick pocket his armor. But yes it is possible if you have better armor to offer.

Ah, if you killed any of the NPCs then you can still use the Reverse Pickpocket mechanics but to only get one set of Armor. Quit possible you won't be able to get their weapons though as you need to armor of both to get both weapons.
