At the same time as knights there were actually giant siege cannons. They took days or weeks to set up had to be moved in pieces by dozens of horses and fired stone cannon balls that weighed hundreds of pounds. After they were constructed they had to be buried because the recoil was so huge.

A good thing to remember about the Trojan horse is that it wasn't just a big wooden horse, the young Greek man they left outside of it claimed that it was an effigy to the Goddess Athena and by taken it inside, the Trojans would gain her favour as the greeks lost it. The overarching message of that entire mythical siege was that while the Trojans had the favour of Ares (a god of brutality and mindless war) they lacked the favour of Athena (known for her intellect and tactful fighting) and thus they were doomed from the start.

The cannons nicknamed Big Bertha were the M-Gerät or 42 cm kurze Marinekanone 14 L/12 in use from 1914-1918 and the Paris Gun in use from March to August 1918. I guess the one Spiff is thinking of is the Schwerer Gustav railway gun, but that's not Big Bertha. Now go and learn some history before calling someone a dumbass :)

Fun fact: the Gustav Gun (the cannon Spiff was referring to) was, in fact, so large it was transported not only by rail, but by two parallel railroad tracks, so the use of two engines is more accurate than you'd think!
