People were too quick to judge NXT 2.0, before even seeing any glimpse of its future. It's now back to being a developmental brand and quite frankly, I have to say they've done a tremendous job building new stars thus far. It's a developmental brand, but it's one that lives up to its name. Kudos to Vince McMahon for his hard work. He doesn't get enough credit for everything that he does. People just love to hate and criticize anything remotely related to Vince being in charge.

I'd be lying if I said I prefer NXT 2.0 over Black & Gold but I am glad it "existed". Air quotes because it's technically still 2.0 because it's still technically developmental. Without it Mandy Rose wouldn't have been the main event star a lot of people expected her to be, Carmelo Hayes would probably be a 2x North American Champion instead of NXT Champion, there's only a 50% champion Tiffany Stratton would become NXT Women's Champion, Ilja Dragunov might have joined Imperium by now, and InDex wouldn't have happened. Not really related but I feel this needs to be said. Everyone is saying that Bron Breaker should change his name to a Steiner and here's my reasoning on why not. If his name is changed to a Steiner, since WWE caters to casual fans, most people will be seeing him as "Hey, this is Steiner's son" instead of actually realising he is character of his own. You can see this has happened to many such as Dominick Mysterio, even-though he is talented asf, his character is basically "Rey's son". Having a separate non-Steiner name allows him to break out of that bubble and be his own self.

NXT is finally being treated like how they were supposed to be in the first place: a developmental brand. But at the same time, they're still making it, in some way, the company's third brand. They're developing characters (or wrestlers in general) while pairing them with veteran indie wrestlers. but yeah this NXT 2.0 is neither good nor bad, but it's alright for the most part.

Bron Breakker seems on the fast track. No reason not to expect big things from him sooner or later. Odyssey has so much charisma. Hoping to big things from him. Tony D'Angelo seems like he stepped out of time from 90's WWF...in a good way. Same style of introduction vignette's in the flavor of say Razor Ramon and him casually slipping some notes to the ref when getting in the ring was classic stuff. Only one I'm not sure about yet from the one's you mentioned is Lash Legend. Need to see more from her first I think. Hoping for Big things from LA Knight. He's got the look, and the gift of gab. He seemingly has all the tools to do big things too if given the chance.

@IronTonyStark 3 жыл бұрын
@@khesipresents1885 Perhaps Lash Legend doesn't need to be in the ring. I know nothing of her other than what I've seen on NXT 2.0, but either way, I don't think every last woman under contract needs to be a competitor in the Women's Division, same way as every male under contract doesn't need to be in the ring either. If Lash Legend can bring it on the mic and hone the personality, maybe that should be her lane...that or a valet...in the same way that Malcolm Bivens is a good talker and perfectly suited to being a manager. Despite WWE not being the land of Managers/Valets outside of Paul Heyman, Vickie Guerrero and NXT, with the occasional exception here and there for short stints in the last 2 decades or so on RAW & SmackDown!; they can always train up the next crop on NXT 2.0 if there is a willingness to do so. Managers were always fun during the mid 90's WWF New Generation. in particular, managers that would get involved and from time to time get their comeuppance. Most of the managers today in both companies are sort of impotent in that they just stand there and don't get involved, much less get their comeuppance. Even Heyman as great as he is largely has a non physical role these days and just stands at ringside and doesn't get involved during matches (Briefly getting lifted by Brock on SmackDown! a few weeks ago aside).

People expect 2.0 to automatically be as good as black&gold when that era of nxt called up people that had already made a name for themselves in indies promotions and were already big stars and veterans in the ring. 2.0 actually needs time to build stars and even then it’s not SUPPOSED to be as good as sd or raw. I think NXT was fine the way it was before it became new cause of that Indy feel even though I never was big on Indy wrestling like that. But making homegrown talent ain’t bad neither. That’s why Vince ain’t taking in any Indy stars right now. That’s why he ain’t sign anyone from ROH when it pretty much folded. A lot of their stars are either going to AEW, Impact or elsewhere. Vince released a lot of wrestlers HHH has signed or their contracts expired and they ain’t wanna renew them. Vince wants talent that nobody’s ever heard of. He doesn’t want men and women who already have a name for themselves. Hence why Vince going back to the old OVW, FCW, NXT when it first started and other developmental days. Back then he builder talent from his partnership he had with developmental brands. Hence why we had John Cena, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, and Batista. All came from OVW in 02 and made a name for themselves. Vince now wants people who are non wrestlers and instead of legitimate wrestlers or at least ones that aren’t big. Hence why he’s signing athletes, personalities, bodybuilders, models and amateur wrestlers. He also signing 2nd and 3rd generation stars like Solo Sikoa who is from the Maivia/Anao’i/Fatu Wrestling Family. He’s The Usos younger brother and Roman Reigns cousin. Bron Breakker is Rick Steiner son and Scott’s nephew. He wants build more homegrown stars in which is nothing wrong with that. It’s good to see homegrown stars. Maybe someday they will be big on the main roster.

Speaking of Kofi, that brings me to something. Your last two WWE Champions, who are both black, were first molded as pro wrestlers by WWE developmental systems. How many black wrestlers have been developed by the indies into a top world champion in ANY major promotion throughout the entire HD era? Exactly two. One of them is Jay Lethal, and one of them was covered in a mask where Konnan would speak for him and pretend he's Mexican. I say this because these same people judging NXT 2.0 likely subscribe to the narrative that "AEW is super diverse while WWE is super racist." And I say all _that_ as an example of how easy it is to find and pick apart the hypocrisy that comes from many of these same people.

You hit the nail right on the head with literally that first statement. I also don’t think it should be on national television. And honestly it didn’t need to happen in the first place. I thought hhh was doing just fine and it’s not really his fault that Vince wasn’t paying attention to what was happening on his 3rd show. But who cares. They kindve killed my interest in their product.

Definitely is and what it needed to be to begin with as a developmental territory, focusing on not just in-ring work but by producing characters. That's why I respect and adored Dusty Rhodes version of NXT since it was about that. The issue with NXT when HHH was in charge was he focused on the talents putting on workrate matches instead of developing their character and turned the developmental into a brand since the people got him overthinking to give him that idea since NXT was hyped up by the majority as being the best thing in the company over the main brands, Raw and SmackDown.

For the most part I'm fine with NXT 2.0. I dogged on it at first when it was announced but I'm actually liking what they're doing with it cause admittedly even tho I love the previous era of NXT that era was starting to lose it's focus but with 2.0 now they have a focus. Of course it's not perfect by any means and they clearly have alot of kinks work out in this new direction and I can see why many people may not like it straight away but I think in due time when they finally get things settled in then fans will start to come around. It's still early but it'll get there eventually.

Truth be told NXT 1.0 was gonna reach an all time low at some point anyways, especially when you've got the main roster and AEW at war, All eyes are on them NXT 1.0 was going to feel redundant especially since there is a lack of characters so people were going to leave anyway I think the revamp is the best that could've happened, NXT 2.0 just needs to develop it's identity and stick with it Plus with this revamp with Vince in charge, characters you love in NXT 2.0 are less likely to be hit with a reset button when they eventually arrive on the main roster so that's a plus in my book

And yes NXT 2.0 is a good wrestling show but it's a disappointing good wrestling show. At least you get a good variety of wrestlers something that aew Dynamite doesn't even try to provide, and yes I do put NXT 2.0 over aew Dynamite right now. My biggest disappointment with NXT 2.0 is the decline of pushing certain characters, breaking up tag teams and stables either by firing some people or moving them to the Raw or Smackdown brand, and not giving the audience time to get used to some of these newer characters.

I haven't missed an episode of NXT since they rebranded and in my opinion, it's better that they made this brand developmental and they're pushing a lot of young and new stars for the future. Within a few months, they had already formed new stars like Bron Breakker, Joe Gacy, Creed Brothers, Carmello Hayes, Toxic Attraction, and more. I just don't like too short matches because they now focus more on characters/gimmicks and the logo but it doesn't matter because we watched wrestling because of athleticism and storylines.

Honestly it's annoying that we're getting 50 debut matches, and the worst part about that is they're all short and lukewarm matches. Obviously they need to establish their stars so it makes sense, but this is gonna go on for I'd say 6 months? It's really getting harder to watch week by week as it's just trying to meet an objective of 50 debut matches and one established star match with 40 backstage videos between every 5 minutes. They've gotta pull it together or else they're gonna have Vince push all of them into 205 Live or Main Event

I'm just not fond of the reason for all this happening. In my head, I totally thought NXT needed to transition to being a full-on developmental company because WWE DID have to think about the future. However, Vince set it up to fail when he pitted it against AEW on Wednesdays. The funny thing is that it was still the best product WWE had across the board and it fared far better than RAW or Smackdown in terms of quality. So, blaming Triple H to make this change happen was just so low and cheap. I would have slowly transitioned all the incumbent NXT stars to the main roster and brought them to the main roster to establish an NXT black and gold era on the main roster while bringing in the younger talents. But hey, what do I know? I do like Bron Breakker (Change the name, please), and some other workers. I also dislike some things like Toxic Attraction winning all the women's gold because of their looks, the womens division becoming a divas division all over again and the hokey segments that make you cringe. Rant done.
