Club runners spend around 65% of the time pushing hard in training while elites do 10%. That's definitely a lesson.

Go easy most of the time so you can go really hard, but easier said than done..

@@thomasmedia1062 also a question of volume. If you barely train at all, you can afford to go balls to the wall all the time, and probably should. From the moment you increase volume, you do need a lot more low intensity.

As he says in the video, he’s doing 5-6 hard sessions a week. That’s probably the same number of sessions an average bro does total so it makes sense the rest of his training is very low intensity.

I've done a few for fun thanks to the Brownlees and I love it, it's the transitions. Get on the bike soaking wet and feel my lungs working harder then ever, get off the bike and have jelly legs!

Great insight into Jonny's life. An Observation: For those struggling to understand everything Jonny is saying, it's not so much his accent but the fact he doesn't really enunciate each word. One word kinda rolls into the next without much space. I find it quite fascinating. I've never struggled with the Yorkshire accent so I don't think that's the issue.

Good to know that pros also carry toilet paper on runs in case they get ´caught out’. I thought that was only something that happens to me as an enthusiastic but slow triathlete. I feel much better now ;-)

I prefer running more simpler pure sport I couldn't be arsed dealing with all those bikes and the tools/gear. Also less carbs for longer distance? Kenensia Bekele the greatest long distance athletes said on his instagram in a QnA video he eats a high carb meal after every workout. Kipchoge lives off rice.
