Superlite SLC - Dipping the SLC Safety Cone Orange with Dip Armor

I dip my SLC in Safety Cone Orange plastidip and dip armor! I've come full circle, the allure of orange was too great to resist any longer.
Products used:
4 layers white PDS (3 gals)
6 layers safety cone orange PDS (4 gals)
2 layers Dip Armor (3 quarts)

Really enjoy your dipping videos! You really do a great job! Plasti Dip can be tough to work with at times but its also incredibly rewarding. Next time you change colors your should go with an Autoflex metallic or hypershift! Ive been experimenting with AutoFlex from DipYourCar and its just an amazing product. Almost like paint!

Love the color. As far as a matt finish it looks amazing. Plus there are youtubers who are going from oem gloss to a matt wrap. I'm also an "Orange" fan! Sebring Orange C8!

you should try warping your SLC next time Cam. they make some great paint like wraps now. I wrapped my F430 last summer it looks like paint 100% and I think is cheaper then the dip

These are the standard option Brembos. Probably a decent number of things I would have done differently/better but not too much of significance. The guys installing boosted brake systems may be on the right track, it takes more leg effort than I would prefer. I don’t think any of those builds have hit the streets yet so TBD on how well sorted they will be.

The jambs are painted black. I masked these areas during dipping.

Can I ask what engine you use with this SLC and what gearbox? I just bought this one, intending to install a Chevrolet zz572 but I don't know which gearbox to choose?

I’m using a LS376/525. It’s the GM 6.2L LS3 engine. It is mated to a graziano transaxle which comes out of a Lamborghini gallardo or Audi R8. You can get a gearbox from HCF Motorsport, they import from Italy.

The finish is not great, but I guess it's ok for a DIY job. I guess it's also super protection against stone chips as well

How hard is it to remove this product? How much did your application cost? Thanks

Removal is quite easy, a few hours on this car due to how much additional stuff I have to remove. On a typical car it goes even faster. For the dip it was about $75/gallon. I used about 6 gallons for this project. The dip armor is about $230 but you can do 2-3 cars with that much dip armor.

Exactly. There's so much I like about the SLC, but it badly needs a facelift. It wouldn't take that much for it to have bad ass looks. That's one of the main reasons I'm going with an Ultima RS instead of the SLC.

I hear you say "I don't want to invest that much time in it" Well then you shouldn't be building a kit car! If you would've taken all these bodyparts off of the car, which is very easy with this kit car, you wouldn't be having all those problems with getting edges and textures right. Building a car the correct way costs time.
